Southern California is on fire again. I don't live where there is danger. I'm not going to be be evacuated. But, damn, it is nasty around here. It is hot anyway and the fire just north of where I live can only be making it worse. The air is heavy with smoke. Ick. *sigh* Alright, let that be the conclusion of the ranting portion of my post. I know, too, that me gripping in some way about temperature must grow old. (Yes, I haven't forgotten the broken air conditioning debacle you all had to put up at the beginning of the summer.)
Here let me show you this...
Here is Little Prince right just waking up after his little ear tube insertion this morning. Princess Diva sent it to me on my phone and it made me want to cry even though I knew he was okay. He just looks so sad and he is wearing a tiny hospital gown. I almost couldn't stand it.
Luckily she sent this one to me very shortly afterward. He is looking sweet and happy, as always. She said it seems like he can hear better already. We're all so excited they finally worked through the maze of bureaucracy to get this simple thing taken care of. You would not believe what they went through for the past year...
I hope you all had a good weekend and that you see a good week ahead of you. Anything special coming up? Ear tubes? Putting out fires? What is on your calendar?

Awww, that picture is so sad. He looks so miserable. Luckily he looks happier in the second. I would say the air quality isn't conducive to good health.
I would say, you SoCal people and your fires, but we have one burning about 30 minutes north of us too!
Oh, poor guy. Whi did it take so long to get them?
Oh, poor baby. i'm glad he's better now.
Give me a couple of months and I'll be complaining about the cold here.
Ooohhhh... poor Little Prince! What a scary thing at that age.
Glad he bounced back so quickly. He will be a much happier guy now.
Our fire is done. Good luck with yours... you have my sympathy on the smoke issue. YUCK.
AlienCG: Isn't it tragic? But I was very relieved to get that second one.
The air quality here is ridiculous. But all natural. Hm.
MrManuel: I guess it has been hot and dry all over :-) However, we are supposed to have a very wet winter. *sigh*
NoRegrets: Oh, insurance issues. This has been going on since he was assesed at birth and he has been to so many doctors and specialists before it was finally coordinated into - yes, he needs tubes - yes, we will let this doctor do the procedure - yes, he has privleges at a hospital we accept.
Churlita: Thank you. Last night he was his usual bouncy self.
Please complain! The coming wet winter will no doubt induce some truly awful whiny posts from me...don't let me whine alone :-)
Ananda: Thank you...one good thing about his age is how quickly things are forgotten...or at least seem to be :-)
There are fires all over here and I know of at least one that has a containment date of Sept. 15. Guh.
That first photo was definitely a tear jerker, thank goodness for the second! Hope things go from strength to strength now for the little guy.
FW: He is such a happy, sweet fellow. I can't imagine anything but success for him :-)
Now that is a much more cheerful and happy photo of him on the bottom there. Poor little kid (or from Ferris Bueller's Day off "Poor little lamb"), I'm glad he's hearing and feeling better now!
Tara: hee hee! Poor little lamb...I like that.
He is going great, thanks :-)
