This award comes to me from our friend across the pond, Daffy @ Almost There. If you aren't reading her, you should be. She's so funny and sweet...and she gave me an award! It comes with stings attached though...can you believe it? Luckily, I love talking about myself. No, really, I do. :-P
Okay...I must list:
5 Obsessions
1. I get obsessed about tv shows now and again. Right now it is all about "So You Think You Can Dance", "Nurse Jackie", "True Blood", and "Time Warp".
2. Getting geared up for the Summer Reading Program. Yes, they pay me to obsess about this, but I'm into it apart from that. It is a busy time, but quite fun.
3. It is birthday season in my family, so I have that to obsess upon. That is a pretty fun obesession too.
4. Okay. This is silly, but I go through phases with foods that I'm obsessed with. Mostly snacky type foods. A while ago it was barbeque flavored mini rice cakes...not such a bad thing. Right now it is 7-11 iced coffee. Probably not so great. But it will pass.
5. Taking pictures of random things that I think I might use in my blog one day. I take them with my phone camera, which is my only camera. They tend not to look so impressive. Still, I find it very enjoyable. That's what counts, right?
5 Dislikes
1. Not having air conditioning at work. You all know about that, as I bitch about it regularly. By next week it should be cool again and I can shut up. Probably.
2. Books by Nicholas Sparks. Not to offend anyone, but they are so saccharine sweet! They are very popular, as are the movies made from them. But I'd have to say I dislike them.
3. Abba Zabas and other caramel and taffy types of candies. I don't dislike much in the way of sweeties, but this stuff kills my teeth. If you don't want me to eat your candy get very sticky, chewy things and I will leave it alone.
4. Having confrontations of any kind. This is something I am always working on, because I know sometimes it has to be done. But that doesn't mean I have to like it :-)
5. Which leads to this one...a certain co-worker of mine. She has been working my last nerve for the past couple of months. I've been letting it go and letting it go, but I am growing to dislike her in a pretty strong way. And I dislike that feeling, too.
5 Tagged
Alright. Hm. Tagging. I will give this award to 5 people. I'd love it if you would do the meme too. However, I am a reasonable person (unlike Daffy, who made some horrible threats...just kidding!!!) Do them, don't...I still love you and your blog.
Tara @ Eclectic Spaghetti
Ananda Girl @ Oodles of Funch
Churlita @ Churlish Figure
NoRegrets @ Woman with No Regrets
Crazy4Coens @ Raising Sunny
"Lovely Blog" award seems kind of girlie, so I went with my girlies. And yeah, I know a couple of you, not naming names, who do not dig on memes at all. Not a problem. You still have lovely blogs :-)

Congrats on your award! You deserve it!
We just got through birthday season in my family. From here, just my dad in July and nothing really else the rest of the year...
Holy moly! I don't get awards! Wow. Thanks.
BTW... I hate Nicholas Sparks books too! Yuck.
Wow and thank you. Memes will come. Ah, I am so touched that you care. Smile.
I have avoided Nicolas Sparks - I can cry my eyes out about my own life, who needs to read a book to do that?
I can totally relate to that "Time Warp" obsession. That show is totally cool.
Evil-E's birthday is coming up next month. I really don't obsess about that.
I have a cache of pictures for possible usage one day. Possibly for Saturday Scavenger Hunt.
I don't like confrontations either. I try to avoid people who are confrontational.
MrManuel: Thank you! Isn't it funny how in a whole big family the birthdays can end up all clumped together?
Ananda: You do get awards! Yay! I'm glad to hear you're not a big Sparks fan. It would have surprised me to hear you were, somehow :-)
Crazy4Coens: I can't wait to learn more about you :-) And you make a good point...yes, I can get bummed on my own, thank you very much. haha!
AlienCG: Time Warp is amazing. Hey, my sister has a July birthday too! Your pictures are always interesting and well shot, so I look forward to seeing more. And avoiding confrontational people seems like an excellent policy to me. I'm totally on board.
You were way too nice in the meme giving! I think my demanding was a bit diva-ish but hey, everyones allowed a diva moment. ;o)
You never mentioned in your obsessions how you are obsessed with spoiling all the American Reality shows I love. You see.... you forget that the UK is Waaaaaaaaay behind everyone else. But thats ok... I just don't tell my kids I know who wins and then I back the winner early and then my kids think I'm amazing so it's all good!
Thanks for playing along Laura and you definitely deserve the award. Coming over here is like coming home. xx
Daffy: I'm sure you have the right idea...but I just don't have it in me.
haha! I am sorry about spoiling reality shows for you... wow, I kind of suck! I'm glad you are able to get something good out of it...you should be making money off it somehow.
And thanks for the award and the meme fun, Daffy. You're so much fun!!!
I'll try to do it this week. Maybe later in the week, when my vacation is over.
Awww thank you for the award! You might just have given me motivation to post something. You know me and memes. We go together like peanut butter and chocolate.
Oh yeah - confrontations. I dislike them too and try to avoid them as much as possible. I actually resent it when I have to confront.
And congratulations on the award!!
My favorite obsession: chocolate!
I haven't heard of those tv shows. I really got into the Wire, now I want to watch lost, it sounds addictive. I also really love those trashy reality programs on VH1 and MTV, very very guilty pleasures.
Churlita: That would be great! I know you aren't a fan of the meme, but if you should get the chance...
Tara: I'll admit, I was kind of counting on you to be a kind soul and take one for the team here :-)
Sometimes being non-confrontational seems to hinder me, but mostly I think it is probably better than being willing to get up in people's faces for no good reason.
Congratulations to you too :-) Totally deserved...you are a lovely blogger with a lovely blog.
Sebastien: I can't believe I didn't include chocolate! Dang.
I think The Wire and Lost will be good ones for me to watch on DVD. I ♥ Netflix. And yes...I will admit to every so often catching one of those guilty pleasures you mentioned....
