Seinfeldisms & Me

I was talking to a friend today about my extraordinary ability to recognize just about any quote from Seinfeld. I mean, that is extraordinary, right? haha! Okay, maybe not, but beggers can't be choosers...or something like that. It is fun to trade Seinfeldisms with other fans, but if you aren't sure who you are dealing with it can totally backfire. For example, if I were to say, "You are sooo good lookin'!" after you sneezed it would either make you laugh, because you'd recognize where it came from OR you'd look at me like I was a head case because it would be a very odd response to a sneeze. My friend got right on board when I asked him if he was having a BIG salad for dinner. If he wasn't a fan of Seinfeld that might not have been a particularly odd question...but it wouldn't have been a question to have a little laugh over either.

I guess a familiarity with Seinfeldisms is a shared experience like any other. If you get it, you get it! If you don't...well, you don't. And it is always so fun when you run into someone who gets it...no matter what it is. Sometimes it is growing up in the same town, even if it is at different times. Sometimes it is just being the same age, going through similar times. Sometimes it is music or other particular interests or hobbies or preferences that draw us together. When someone else gets it though...ah, it just feels good! So I will probably continue to throw out random Seinfeldisms. And if you watch The Office? Yeah, we should talk. :-)

I love to have people share in comments. So, toss me a line! I just might get it. And if I don't, you can explain it to me and we can laugh about how clueless I am!

Helloooooo....Lllllllaura. I like Seinfeld, and know a lot of lines, but I'm nowhere close to being an expert. I guess I am a very, very, bad, bad man. I paid for the big salad!

I HATE Seinfeld, but I am similar to you with Friends quotes. I quote that show nonstop.

Yikes. I don't watch Seinfeld or The Office. I have seen some Friends re-runs. I like to tell people that I'm changing my name to Crap Bag. If you don't get it... you're no Princess Banana Hammock!

"How shall I put this?....He took it out."

Oh Seinfeld....I love that show. My coworker and I were looking at this weird website where they actually make fake resumes, and they had a clip of Seinfeld on the site, the one where George wants Jerry to pretend he's Vandelay Industries. My coworker even confessed that I'm more of a fan than he is, and I went ahead quoting that particular episode. Could've gone on much longer.

I can catch Big Lebowski, Raising Arizana and Princess Bride quotes. The rest is hit and miss. Hoo hum for me.

A college friend of mine played Elaine's car salesman boyfriend. I didn't watch the show enough to have seen that episode, but my addicted friends know exactly which one I'm talking about.

I quote pop song lyrics. I'm always so excited when someone gets i doing it.

AlienCG: Ah, see? You get it! haha! No soup for you!

MrManuel: I like Friends too :-) I'd recognize a friends quote, Miss Chanandler Bong.

Ananda: Do you even know what a banana hammock is? It's just a funny word!

Tara: Yay! I knew you'd be all in on the Seinfeld. You are the queen of the quotes and I bow before you. hee hee!

Crazy4Coens: All quotes are good quotes if you get your fellow fans around you! Not a ho hum in sight.

Churlita: Drat, now I feel like a complete non-expert, because the only car salesman I can remember her dating is Puddy, who was played by Patrick Wharburton.
Oh, you have the lock on pop lyrics, for sure!

Sebastien: George and Mr Peterman are awesome...both always just a little off target somehow :-0

And thanks, that print is amazing! It has everything :-) Love it.

A favorite episode of mine just ended a few minutes ago.

Guess which one?

"Moors... Moops! Moors.... Moops! Moors... Moops!"

Earlier I saw the one with Peterman and Eliane's opium addiction.

Dmarks: haha! Bubbleboy! That is a great episode :-)
Elaine sure got into a lot of weird situations at J Peterman. I loved it when she had to go to the Burmese jungle to get him to sign off on that cossack hat she expensed...You're an errand girl, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.
