Literate and Stylish, Kissable and Quiet

This week's Saturday Scavenger Hunt word is, on the surface, pretty straightforward. NoRegrets choose the word JERSEY. The first thing that came to mind was New JERSEY. Then, I considered the sports JERSEY...and JERSEY, as a fabric. JERSEY cows occured to me...as did The Channel Island of JERSEY. So, plenty of ideas to play around with! The problem is that I don't have pictures of any of these things! Well, I probably could dig up a picture of Social Animal in his football JERSEY, but I didn't. Instead this is what you are getting...

I have had JERSEY on the brain, so when I saw this Facebook entry I photographed it. I think there might be something wrong with me....Anyway, in case you can't read it, it say: The Most Interesting Man in the World has over 270 retired JERSEYs, tuxes, and lab coats hanging throughout the world. And, yes, I "Like"ed it.

Allow me to present my fall back option :-) I can find books about almost anything as a last resort...so, here I give you...New JERSEY. Perfect for that 5th grade state report you've been meaning to do.

Ah, well....we didn't get to meet The Boss or Bon Jovi. We didn't get to milk any cows, make a touchdown, or travel off the coast of France. But we did work our way around to a JERSEY or two after all. We can call this one JERSEY: the slightly lame edition :-)

Now, all that is left to do is look around at everyone else's JERSEYs and find out who NoRegrets will tag for next week! Seems like even I can manage that...and you can too! Remember, this gun's for hire, even if we're just dancin' in the dark.

Haha - you thought up lots of great ideas for this word and I was stumped at first!

We did end up thinking of the same song, though! :D

I do not doubt that the Most Interesting Man in the World has so many retired pieces of attire.

I have been to the Jersey Shore, but that was it for New Jersey. Excellent examples of Jersey, now I wait for NoRegrets' tag.

I immediately thought of Jersey Girl, the song. It was my favourite Bruce song. My hubby used to sing it to me when we first met. Then I thought of the Channel Islands Jersey as I've been! Yes I have! We went on a hovercraft to one of the other islands too! A Wonderful (tiny) place.
Wonderful post Laura!

Fun post laura b! You hit every aspect of Jersey that I can think of... well done.

I have been out for a couple of weeks... but I am anxious to see next week's word... cause I'm coming back.

Tara: I really do think of Springsteen when I think of New Jersey. And that song is one of my favorites.

AlienCG: It is not possible to doubt the most interesting man in the world.
Never been to the Jersey shore...but surely someday!

Daffy: Hi Daffy!!! You a like a visitor from the future with your hovercraft travels. And how cool is it that your husband sings to you? Very.

Ananda: Thank you very much. It will be great to have you in again, too!

Nice! What year is that book from??

NoRegrets: Thanks. That book is 2008. We have to keep country and state books updated every couple of years pretty much.

I have a Barry Sanders' jersey that I got when I was 15. I love it! but I haven't worn it in forever. There comes a time in a man's life when he can't wear jerseys anymore.

Great Jersey pics. I love the book.

Sebastien: Yes, I tend to agree. Unless a man is actually a professional athlete there may well be a time to set aside the jerseys. Especially if there are cool graphic tees around....

Chulita: Thank you. It is a very useful book :-)
