The Best You Can Is Good Enough

I chose today's Saturday Scavenger Shots word with an eye toward the upcoming New Year. The word is OPTIMISTIC. I make an effort to keep a positive frame of mind. Even though I fail every now and then, I keep mindful of my attitude and adjust it if at all possible! I always figure, why pre-defeat yourself by assuming the worst? Being OPTIMISTIC can lead to disappointment, but being pessimistic is just miserable. Why not hope for the best? Here are some things that make me feel OPTIMISTIC.

Seeing families participating in library activities together makes me OPTIMISTIC in many ways!

DR is a good man and I feel so lucky to have him in my life. I am OPTIMISTIC about our future.

Now that four of my kids are adults, three live on their own, and one has a family of his own, I don't have them all together in one place as often as I'd like. But seeing them always makes me so happy. I am OPTIMISTIC about their futures...and therefore mine as well.

Here's hoping you have lots to be OPTIMISTIC about in the coming year. Let's decide that 2013 will be a great year and then work to make it so. Being OPTIMISTIC, coupled with positive effort is the way to go :)

Now...shall I tag back Jasen? You want it? If so, it is yours.

I'm Just Gonna Keep on Waiting Underneath the Mistletoe

Christmas. We made it though another one! For this Choose and Defend Wednesday I thought I would ask...now what?  How do you handle the aftermath? Or really, only one particular aspect of the aftermath. This question could apply to other holidays too! When it comes to your holiday decorations, do you take them down...

Immediately / Quickly
OR

Relucantly / No Rush

For the purposes of this Choose and Defend. Let us make up to about one week following the holiday the deadline for the first choice...anything after that, second choice. Feel me?

Hope you all had the Christmas you desired. I'd love to hear what you got up to. Also, Choose and Defend! Thank you :)

Nobody Said It Was Easy

Take me back to the START. That's right, START is the Saturday Scavenger Shots word, chosen by Jasen over at Swamp Gas & Moonlit Reflections. And if you haven't already, check out his posts from the last few days about the creation myths of various cultures...very interesting.

I couldn't decide what kind of START I wanted to post about...so of course I left it until the last minute. Then I decided to take a couple of photos of things that help me START my work day...especially on  a cold Saturday morning.

This is the old fashioned wall heater in my bathroom.  The thought of it helps me to START throwing off the nice warm covers and making my way out of bed.  I grab my clothes and flee to the bathroom and START this baby up. Real heat in a small room, combined with a hot, comforting shower or bath helps me feel that I have a START on my day.

Another START up incentive to my day was this works bagel with cream cheese.  You can also see part of my coffee cup in the picture. What day could START without coffee or tea? Well, mine do sometimes...but not today. I felt like I needed some extra rewards for STARTing today. It was just one of those days.

There you have it. A couple of the creature comforts that helped me START my day with a bit more enthusiasm.  Of course, we are about to START a new year and as always, I am facing it with optimism and hope. 2013 will be a fine, fine year. Let it START!

And Mom and Dad Can Hardly Wait For School to Start Again

Let us have a merry little Choose and Defend Wednesday, shall we? It is the time of the season for Christmas decorations, Christmas songs, Christmas movies. It doesn't really matter if you actually celebrate Christmas yourself, either religiously or culturally, it is everywhere!

So, I thought I'd take this moment to discuss Christmas movies.  Well...not many. Since this is Choose and Defend, we will discuss exactly two Christmas movies :)

Which of these ubiquitous holiday gems to you prefer (Choose) and why (Defend)?

A Christmas Story
OR

It's a Wonderful Life

They each have their good and bad points to be sure. Let's hear what you think. Choose and Defend.  And, as always, feel free to include additonal information about any other holiday movies you may enjoy or not enjoy :)

Analyze This!

I had a dream a few nights ago that was particularly vivid and stuck with me. I've invited you here today to analyze it for me!

Full disclaimer, I tend to feel that dreams are just random images the brain generates. And I know the ones I remember are mostly because I woke up at some particularly odd place in the REM cycle or something....I'm no scientist ;-) But you know...I am still interested in assigning meaning to things! Like...how I analyze someone's dream probably has more to do with what is on my mind than what was on their mind...you see?

So, having said that, here is my dream: It was a short scenario, but it repeated itself with a couple of variations.  I was walking through some quiet streets. I don't remember other people....or really, the act of walking, but I wasn't in a car.  I'd come to a spot and notice a large, exotic-looking wild cat lying in the road. There was never blood, but the large cat appeared to have been hit by a car and killed. I would look at it and think - 'Oh how awful. That beautiful animal. How did this happen?'  Because it was a wild animal and I was unprotected, I would look at it carefully to see if it was really dead.  I'd peer at it's half opened eyes and conclude that, yes, it was dead. In each scenario, I'd look back once I'd passed to see the big cat getting up. It wasn't dead after all! I'd feel a little frisson of fear...was it going to come after me? But most of the time it just walked away.  I know at least once, it did approach me. When that happened, I laid down and buried my face in some kind of blanket or jacket...basically playing dead.  I could feel the cat's warm breath like a tickle on my face through the cloth and wasn't afraid then. It was no more threatening than a pet cat's exploration. And then, like in the other cases, it just walked away.

So. What do you think? Analyze!!! Please. And thank you.

When Your Broken Heart Yearns to Be Free

This week's Saturday Scavenger Shots word is FESTIVITY. I must thank Tara @ Eclectic Spaghetti for choosing this great celebratory word!  It is certainly the right time of year, with many parties and gatherings...any kind of FESTIVITY you can imagine!

I've got a couple of things to put up.

Here is a picture taken at our city's holiday party. You will recognize me, looking characteristically awkward. The theme of the night was "A Sweet Holiday Party".  In addition to a wonderful meal, we had a coffee / hot chocolate bar and a candy buffet. I have barely made a dent in the huge bag of candy I took home.  Also, it is the year of my 10 year anniversary, so I received a few extra bucks as a gift. Now that is my kind of FESTIVITY!

Here is the little tree at our little pad.  It makes me feel like every day is an occasion for FESTIVITY! I love having a tree...for a couple of weeks. Then, I can't wait to take it down :)

And there you have it. My small attempts are bringing some FESTIVITY to this ordinary day. Or maybe it isn't an ordinary day after all! May your day be extraordinary in all the right ways.

How 'bout the Power to Move You?

This is a magical time of year. Or so I'm told. So how about a little magic for today's Choose and Defend Wednesday? Well...not so much magic as what is known as paranormal phenomenon.  I will come right out and say I'm not a believer in such things. But that's just me! And anyway, Choose and Defend is rarely, if ever, based on anything remotely real :)

Which paranormal power would you prefer to possess?

Telekinesis
OR

Telepathy

Hey, they both have their appeal. And both are kind of creepy. So please enjoy choosing one and then defending your choice to the rest of us, all of you Wonderboys and Wondergirls. Thanks!

Fun, Natural Fun

Today's Saturday Scavenger Shots word, brought to you by this very blogger, is GENIUS. I just picked it randomly. It's a nice word...more than one syllable...could go in a few directions I think.

Here is what I have for you today.

Here is the GENIUS who lives on my desk at work. On your left is Albert Einstein, a fine example of a GENIUS. He is posed next to a photo of himself as a younger man that I am especially fond of. His friends are Casanova, librarian Nancy Pearl, and a male nurse, whom I call Ted. Can't say for certain whether or not any of them fall in to the GENIUS category. Guess I'll have to devise a little action figure IQ test and find out. But, if they don't want to take it, I won't hold it against them. Being a GENUIS isn't everything. In Einstein's case, however, it is pretty cool :)

Okay! Thank you for stopping in to look at my small, personal GENIUS. I hope you are appreciative of your own GENIUS. Seems like there is a bit in all of us...some more than others, that's all.

And...to mix things up, I guess I will tag back Tara for next week's word.
Mix-y!

Crop Circles in the Carpet

This Choose and Defend Wednesday is for the fun loving game player in each of you! Or is it? The question is very simple! Or...is it? haha! I'm just messing about. Giddy from the sight of sunshine outside and the bitter cold inside. So...anyway, here is your Choose and Defend.

Would you rather...

Hide
OR

Seek

They both have their advantages. Both have elements that give you the upper hand...both may contain some level of excitement. But you must Choose. And please, Defend! You have your reasons...let's hear them.

Choose and Defend!

This Stage, This Mic, This Crowd, This Show

It is a wet, drippy Saturday around here. But I am still willing to get out here in the wilds of the bloggerhood and post my Saturday Scavenger Shots! So brave. haha!

This week's word was chosen by Tara from over yonder at Eclectic Spaghetti.  The word is...CRAFT.  Lucky for me, I do a weekly CRAFT for my storytimes and as needed for other programs. There is nothing kids love more than doing a CRAFT! I am always amazed at the time and effort most children will put into their CRAFT.

Here are my photos -

This is the Creative Center that is attached to our office in Children's Services. In here is just about anything you could possibly need to create a wonderful CRAFT. So many CRAFT supplies, so little time!

Most regularly, I have to create CRAFTs that very small children can do, as my weekly storytimes are especially for kids 19 months through 3 years.  So we mostly CRAFT with crayons, die-cut shapes, and glue sticks. But we still get quite creative.

For example, this week we had a Silly Storytime. For our CRAFT we put together two different animals to make one crazy new animal! We sure know how to CRAFT and have a good time up in here!

I hope you have enjoyed getting CRAFTy with me! I certainly enjoyed, as always, posting some Saturday Scavenger Shots. I wonder who Tara will tag to pick next week's word? We shall see!

For They Passed a Noble Law

Wednesday. Choose and Defend Wednesday. Today's choice was inspired by my drive to work today. I was noticing all the different trees and shrubs and such. This got me to thinking...what if there were only one sort of tree in the world? I know...I know...it doesn't work like that due to climates and soils and reasonableness.  But, you know...what if?  If you had to look at just one sort of tree forever, which one of these would you Choose? And why? (Defend)

Evergreens
OR

Palm Trees

I am not the Lorax...I do not speak for the trees. But still, trees are cool...so speak! Choose and Defend! Happy Wednesday to you.

I Could Not Foresee This Thing Happening To You

BLACK.  The Alien over at Swamp Gas & Moonlit Reflections, known to some as Jasen, chose this week's awesome word. It was a sensible choice, given that yesterday was BLACK Friday. I choose not to participate in that particular annual ritual. The retailers will have to get into the BLACK without me...at least for that one day.

This isn't to say that I'm not a fan of BLACK. I am. My little BLACK heart loves the deep beauty of BLACK. I can't think of a time I've chosen white over BLACK.   Here are a couple of photos to illustrate why I love BLACK.

I am not a tiny girl.  I'm on the short side...but not tiny. Also, I spill things on myself. So, even when I am not being a witch, I tend to wear a lot of BLACK. It compliments my dark hair and light skin. It hides a multitude of sins, sort of. BLACK is where it's at when it comes to my clothing choices.

Sometimes, the thing about BLACK is how pretty it looks contrasting with light and color. BLACK creates the depth from which beauty springs delightfully. BLACK helps us appreciate the non-BLACK...while still appreciating the BLACK! Stand back, y'all!

Thank you for looking into the darkness with me on this lovely Saturday. I hope none of you were injured BLACK Friday shopping! If you did participate, I hope you got what you needed to make our next big holiday happy and bright...I will take mine in BLACK :)  Now...who will Jasen tag next?

You Know My Thoughts

Happy Wednesday...which this week is sort of like a Friday for some folks. Me, I have Thursday and Friday off, but have to work Saturday. So today is sort of....like Wednesday I guess.  None the less, in honor of this non-typical Wednesday, I thought I'd give you a non-typical Choose and Defend!

Here is my thought process...I wanted to do something Thanksgiving oriented, in spite of the sort of mixed reviews the holiday gets in these more enlightened times. In spite of the rather shameful origins of our place on this land, I like this holiday for the reminder to be thankful! It is a harvest festival...people besides those owning factory farms used to be thankful for their crops. We can all be thankful when our little gardens do well. We can be thankful for any number of things and should remember to, indeed, BE thankful. So...Thanksgiving is about gratitude and also, undeniably, about food.

I thought to myself, I could do a sort of blessings based Choose and Defend...I could do a favorite Thanksgiving food Choose and Defend....could I do something combining both?  I sure can! It is my blog, after all!  So this week's non-typical Choose and Defend goes like this -

Please Choose the dish you most look forward to each Thanksgiving. Then, tell how it relates to something for which you give thanks.  For example - The dish I most look forward to is the stuffing! I like mine good and bready. I don't like a lot of fruits and vegetables in there...just deliciously moist bread cubes and maybe some onion and spices. Throw some gravy on there, yeah!
Now...this relates to one of the things I am most thankful for this year...the good health of myself, my family, a great majority of my friends. Stuffing makes me remember that while I can't eat like this every day and expect to have continued great health, I can indulge now and again and I am thankful for that!

Will you give it a try? I know it is a different Choose and Defend, but indulge me if you can. If you do not celebrate Thanksgiving, you can simply play using any favorite food and blessing! See how easy?

So...Happy Choose and Defend Wednesday! Happy Thanksgiving Thursday tomorrow! ♥

What's Gonna Set You Free

Thanks for stopping by for some Saturday Scavenger Shots! Today's word is GRATITUDE. I chose it in honor of our upcoming holiday here in the U.S.

This is an easy one. I make a conscious effort to focus on truly experiencing GRATITUDE for all the gifts I've been given.  Here are just a few of those gifts -

Delicious foods. Especially things that are chocolate. GRATITUDE.

My job. I complain about it, but really it is a wonderful way to earn a living. GRATITUDE.

Love. It is a gift to send it out into the world and to feel it coming back to you. GRATITUDE.

My awesome family. Healthy, happy, and possibly a bit crazy. GRATITUDE. GRATITUDE. GRATITUDE, ad infinitum.

I feel GRATITUDE for the opportunity to  have met so many amazing people through the magic of the Internet. You guys have literally (okay...figuratively) rocked my little world :)

Now all that is left to do is tag....Jasen! Choose wisely or foolishly. Either way is good! It's all good. Thank you. GRATITUDE.

Friday 5 - I'm Trying to Preposition You

It is kind of a cool day, so how about some piping hot Friday 5? Here are my answer to some questions. Do you have some answers too? Feel free to post in comments or on your own blog. I like answers. They make me feel in control!

1. What’s something that’s better on the rocks? Fountain drinks...but just a little rocky. And I seldom pour canned soft drinks over ice. If they've been refrigerated, they are already cold. If they have been out, pouring them over ice flattens them really quickly. Don't dilute the emotion, man! Feel it!

2. Whose behavior has been beyond belief? In this crazy, mixed-up world, is anything really beyond belief anymore? I guess I am a bit surprised by the recent wave of secessionist talk. I mean, really?!?!

3. In what way do you color outside the lines? I don't really. I am pretty conformist for the most part and don't tend to draw attention to myself with "coloring outside the lines" behaviors.  Sometimes, in certain company, my atheism and my liberalism make me feel like an outsider.

4.When were you recently relieved to be in the clear? I have recently been worrying about my mom and her feelings of loneliness stemming from her recent retirement. Fortunately, we found her a place next door to my ex and therefore, just around the block from DR and I....and four of my five kids! This doesn't really put ME in the clear....but it clears up a concern I was not handling very effectively.

5.What seems to have disappeared without a trace? Some of my relationship types of insecurities. Maybe not completely disappeared...so maybe there is still a trace...but my anxieties are fading and that is such a relief.

I hope you are all looking forward to a relaxing and/or exciting weekend. Please come back tomorrow to see my GRATITUDE Saturday Scavenger Shots. I'd be ever so grateful!

I'm Waiting For the Question To Be Asked

Harumph! Here I am, with my nose to the grindstone once again. All I have to relieve the daily workiness is Choose and Defend Wednesday :) Yay!

Are you feeling scientific today? If not....get in the mood post-haste! I want to know how you would choose to view things from a different perspective. Would you rather study things through...

A Microscope

OR

A Telescope

So, give us your view and tell us a little about it. You will brighten my day ever so much! Choose and Defend...because it is Wednesday and because science and beauty are calling to you.

I've Been Standing Here Waiting Such a Long Time

Popping back in from my staycation bunker to post my Saturday Scavenger Shots entry! I'd hate to miss it, as I always look forward to it so.

This week's word, CARD, was chosen for us by the lovely Tara @ Eclectic Spaghetti. This is one of those great, multi-purpose words! I couldn't decide what kind of CARD to post up here! Maybe the funniest person in my life...a real CARD. Maybe a greeting CARD or two from the ones that I've sentimentally saved. Maybe my ATM CARD. Maybe, like some weeks, all of the above.

This time, however, I am posting just one. Partly, this is just laziness. Partly, this highlights one of my favorite CARDS. Look -

Here is my awesome evil library CARD! Who wouldn't want an evil library CARD?!?!?! I got this from @EvilWylie on Twitter quite some time ago. He is one of author @andrewtschaffer 's evil alter egos. Anyway, I love this CARD. Something about it just feels so right.

So, there we go! Here is my CARD....where is yours? Two more days of staycation after today...I better use them wisely :)

We Bought a Six-Pack at the Liquor Store

Happy Wednesday to all you happy people. Sorry I haven't been around blogs much the past few days. As you may know, I am staycationing this week. I don't do as much internetting in general when I am having some down time. However, you know I couldn't miss Choose and Defend Wednesday!

Today, real talk. We just had a big election here and the U.S. and it is time to move on. I may have asked this question or a similar one before, but it seems timely. Basically, I'm just taking our collective emotional temperature, so to speak. Most of us tend to skew towards either optimism or pessimism as a sort of character trait. We're realists or maybe wishful thinkers.  But right now, at this moment in history....how do you feel? Is the glass...

Half Empty
OR

Half Full
I understand this is a rather fatuous question. You understand that most of the questions I ask here are. But I'm sincerely curious. How to do you feel, right now. At this moment. Let us know...you can even tell us what's in your glass! Choose and Defend.

Thx! xxxxxx!

I Know That's the Way You Like It

It seemed only fitting that Jasen over at Swamp Gas & Moonlit Reflections chose the word WILD for this week's Saturday Scavenger Shots. We have had that WILD storm on the East Coast. I imagine some people may have had a WILD Halloween. Or perhaps you've just been going WILD over the World Series. Who knows? But we can all use a little WILDness in our lives.

I will say that my mind has been racing a bit WILDly lately. Lots to be legitimately overwhelmed about. But as I've posited many times before, it feels much more sane to roll with the punches than to struggle. So, I am attempting to tame the WILD meanderings of my bitty brain.

Still, in the interest of Saturday Scavenger Shots and all that is good in chaos and recklessness, here are some mildly WILD photos for you to enjoy.

In honor of Halloween, I presented four programs at the Library. I do them each year (usually only two) for the 2-6 year olds. They get a chance to put on their costumes, come to a storytime, and trick or treat through the Library. They find it incredibly exciting and things tend to get a bit WILD.

This was actually the WILDest thing about my Halloween celebrating. Halloween itself was very quiet. DR and I had a bit of candy, but not a single child stumbled by!

This girl looks ready for a WILD time, no? Girlie Girl was a very cute flapper for one of the parties she attended.

Finally, here is one of my neighbors.  Apparently he lost his head in some sort of WILD and crazy motocycling mishap! He still seems up for anything though. Some people are so creative with their decorating. Makes me WILD with envy :)

Thanks for stopping in here. May the rest of your weekend and the week to come be just as WILD as you want them to be!

What's Your Name? Who's Your Daddy?

Happy Halloweenie! Halloween is my favorite holiday besides my birthday, which has not yet gotten National, let alone International, recognition. I love costumes. I love candy. I love being given permission to roam around the neighborhood, in a costume, requesting candy at places where the porch light is on. I mean, what better way could there be to celebrate?

In honor of this Hump Day Halloween, let us celebrate the grotesque, the alarming, and the funny with a Zombie-themed Choose and Defend Wednesday!  Zombies are pretty big right now. Between a score of classic and not-so classic movies, tv shows like The Walking Dead, and books such as World War Z, zombie fans can always have a good time.  But Choose and Defend Wednesday is about a choice. And here is yours. Which of these two zombie movies is more to you...uh, taste?

Dawn of the Dead

OR
Shawn of the Dead

You know the drill.  Choose one and then Defend your choice righteously in comments! Tell it to me slowly...Tell you what I really want to know.... (cue killer organ solo)

Happy Hallowe'en!!!

Leave a Message and I'll Call You Back

Hope you are all having a glorious Saturday. Mine is being spent at work. So...not glorious, but certainly busy and I'm making myself useful.  Today's Saturday Scavenger Shots word was chosen by Tara, ruler of Eclectic Spaghetti.  The word she chose is WEB. I thought that was a great word! Very evocative of the season and of the place where we all hang out together :)

Oh, what a tangled WEB we weave, when first we practice to deceive. I enjoy the truth and visceral reality of that quote. It certainly speaks to why I so seldom bother to lie. I'd like to think it was all about morality...but really, I am just bad at keeping that WEB untangled.

Here are a couple of WEB photos. There are bound to be tangles.

Here is a bag of fake spider WEB complete with plastic spiders. I have it on my desk at work, in preparation for decorating the Imagination Theater for my Trick or Treat programs. It just isn't Halloween without a great big spider WEB!

Can you see the WEB in this photo? It wasn't a very neatly done one, but for a good couple of weeks DR and I enjoyed this spider and his WEB. He built it rather near the couch, which is near the door.  We came to think of the spider as a bit of a pet and there was something so interesting about watching how excited he'd get when he caught a fly. He'd scurry right over and begin wrapping it up in his WEB. This spider disappeared at some point. I admit, though, that we haven't brushed away his WEB just yet.

I will say that, in general, I'm not a huge fan of WEBs. I like the idea that spiders eat pests, but I don't like how their WEBs make the house look unkempt if they aren't swept away. And I don't like being surprised by accidentally walking into a spider WEB. I have screamed in a very high pitched way and flapped about when meeting one with my face on my travels :)

Of course, when I learned what the word was this week, I thought of the world wide WEB where we blog and visit with one another. So, as you look at my blog, consider the whole thing a third photo for this week's word :)

Enjoy the rest of October...the end is nigh! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, so I look forward to that particular ending.

All My Life You're Haunting Me

Today we will have an easy and delicious Choose and Defend Wednesday. I feel like something sweet. Maybe because Halloween is on the way.  Maybe because I just like sweet things. Who's to say?

Here are a couple of sweet Autumn treats. Which do you prefer and why?

Candy Corn

OR

Caramel Apples

You may not have had this experience, but I have found that people tend to have rather strong positive or negative reactions to these two particular treats. Do you? Let's talk about it! Choose and Defend!

Ruminations on Football

Well...more like ruminations on football players.  As you know, I am not really a sports enthusiast. Still, it seems I have voluntarily brought a man into my home who enjoys watching football. Huh. On a positive note, he seems to focus on NFL games. If we had to do college ball too...

Well, in the interest of fairness (he sort of watches my competitive dancing shows with me) I sat yesterday for the first full game I'd sat through in a really long time.  For the record, it was the Jets / Patriots game.  I had no horse in the race, but found myself rooting for the Jets just because I grew tired of the way the camera sought out Tom Brady's face at every possible moment.  I like to think my sponsorship is what led to their near victory...that is to say, defeat, in sudden death overtime.

Anyway, for the sake of family harmony, I am going to try to enjoy football. Why not? I think, like anything else, if you watch a few episodes and get to know some of the characters, you can find yourself being drawn in to it. I don't yet have a favorite team or teams, but perhaps one or two will grow on me. Living in Los Angeles leaves me teamless. The Rams left so long ago. Some people around here have stuck with the Raiders, but they strike me as kind of ghetto for some reason...and not just because they are from Oakland now! But they seem to attract a thuggish crowd. DR likes the Steelers. Secret Agent Man favors the Eagles. Social Animal has been a Packers fan since he was a small boy. Will I come to love a team as they do? I can only dare to dream :)

I do have some concerns though. Football is a contact sport played by mostly enormous men. I understand quite a few of the players have ended up with brain damage and many other permanent injuries from playing. Also, I saw some kind of report about how a number of the guys who are required to be walls to play, keep eating the same after they retire and quickly become dangerously obese. This is all disturbing. I guess many sports have a definite price that comes with playing. Aside from combat sports, boxing in particular, I doubt there are many much more damaging than football. So I guess if I watch, I will have all that on my conscience as well!

Yesterday evening I did what I thought was a witty post to Twitter about how football players remind me of toddlers. In their uniforms with the pads and natural physical roundness, round bellies and butts...their oversized heads looming...their cocky walks...the way they're all so grabby....and so fearless with their physical well being. I couldn't say all of that, because you know, 140 characters. Anyway, no one responded, so maybe I am alone in this thought. Alternatively (and more likely) people who watch football regularly noticed this a long time ago and are embarrased for me for just noticing :)

Wish me luck on my quest for a new interest. Feel free to discuss your innermost emotions about football as well! I'm listening.

We Are Fixed Right Where We Stand

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT! Okay...just channeling my inner Bay City Rollers there. A good many of you will be too young to appreciate such nonsense. And the rest of you will have the good taste to ignore it :)

Anyway, it is indeed Saturday and thus time for our Saturday Scavenger Shots. This week the word was chosen by yours truly. I will just go ahead and admit that I chose it for its ease and adaptability. VIEW. I mean, you can't actually go at all wrong there, can you?  No, you can't.

Here are a couple of my favorite VIEWs -

With this VIEW I feel like my world is wide open to all sorts of adventures and new lessons. In my VIEW, being around stacks of books each day helps to keep me sane and happy.

I'm guessing you had to know this was coming. Cutest VIEW in the world! VIEWing their little faces makes me so happy
and melts my cold, dark heart.

Thanks very much for stopping in to VIEW today's post. I hope that you are enjoying a fine VIEW from wherever you are right now. Let your gaze wander to the pleasing, the relaxing, the things that bring you joy.

She is a busy woman, but I am going to go ahead and tag Tara to choose next week's word. If anyone else ever has a desire to jump in on us three active participants and throw in a suggestion, I'm sure we'd welcome it!
