It's Time to Stop and Start All Over

How about a little Choose and Defend?  It is Wednesday and I have New Year's resolutions on my mind.  I tend to be a bit wary of resolutions.  Psychologically, I believe it can be healthy to set goals...to speak of them and make a promise to work towards achieving something positive in our lives.  There is certainly something slightly thrilling in the thought of a brand new start.  A chance to do better.  My cynical attitude is only based on the fact that, let's face it, I am kind of lackadaisical. I may talk more about this later...lucky you!  But for today, let's all have good intentions!  Let's Choose and Defend our intentions, right here, right now.  If you had to Choose one of these goals, which would you Choose?  And, can you Defend your choice?  What made you Choose this over that?

For the coming year, which is the more pressing issue for you:

Getting Your Finances in Order

OR

Getting Your Personal Life in Order

Not to bring us all down, but surely one or both could use some work, right?  A little maybe?  So, which needs the most attention from you as we move into this New Year?  Choose and Defend!

Uh, I don't know if there's enough time in the world to get either in order, let alone both. I suppose I'll say financial, because that's something I can work on. There's nothing I can do about the personal, because I can't make a man (who I could seem myself with) materialize in my world.

I'd have to go with getting my personal life in order. I'm sure its never going to be perfect, but there is so much room for improvement there!

I have to say, finances. A year of unemployment has tendency to wreak havoc on the money situation. FINANCES...final answer.

Very hard to say, since both my finances and my personal life need a bit of discipline. Hmmm...tricky!

I'll say personal life for my final answer. I'd like to maybe, possibly, hopefully get out of my comfort zone and meet more people. A circle of friends to dine and laugh with. And finding someone who shares mutual sparks without having to fork over money each month for a dating site would be wonderful too.

For me, I think it will be a year where the financial side is more dominant. However that doesn't mean the emotional side will be overshadowed, it just has to take the backseat through more of the year.

Finances. Quite happy with the personal life, and with my health improving I'm hoping to earn lots of money so I can make a big step in my goal of taking over the world. Having money will probably make the achievement of world domination a bit easier.

Churlita: You have a really amazing personal life and are definitely one of my role models. One for Finances.

Ananda: I love the way you go after life with enthusiasm. You're awesome like that :-) One for Personal.

AlienCG: I can see why you'd say that, but also, your personal life seems very satisfactory. Two for Finances.

Tara: Boy, can I ever relate to what you are saying. Maybe this will be the year that will surprise us both in the social arena. Two for Personal.

FW: You do have lots going on in that arena now. Sometimes when that stuff feels more sorted the personal stuff falls into place as well. Three for Financial.

Sebastien: Your defense is top notch here. Financial success = Easier World Domination. So true. Four for Financial.

Everyone: So, there we have it, at least thus far. Financial order is ahead of Personal order at 4-2. Anyone else like to weigh in on this issue as we start the New Year?
