The word for this week's Saturday Scavenger Shots was choosen by the fascinating Dmarks @ Throwawayblog. The word, ICE, is a perfect choice to compliment the wintery wonderland that many of you are currently experiencing :-)
I have a somewhat dull story relating to Vanilla ICE, whom I'm sure you all remember. If not from his rapping career, then possibly from his Surreal Life appearances. About 17 years ago, at the height of his 'fame', he was in a movie called Cool as ICE...a Rebel Without a Cause remake, if you can believe such a thing. If you check the IMDB listing, you will be able to note that it was filmed on location in Glendora, CA. I never ran into him during the filming, but I did see some of the on site sets. My three oldest kids were small then, and for several days they were fascinated to drive by this house that had been decorated for the movie. It was covered with this rainbow colored siding...very intriguing to small children. Um, and I guess that is it...my Vanilla ICE story.
And now...ICE shots!
Since I don't have a fancy shmancy refrigerator with the in-door water and ICE dispensor, we have to make our ICE the ol' fashioned way. Down homey goodness, I tell you. Notice Handsome Lad has made some blue Powerade ICE cubes.
Shown here, one of my all time favorite treats, ICE cream! Right now, I have chocolate and coffee ICE cream...I keep them in what used to be called the ICE box. Now, of course, it is called by the equally descriptive name of freezer :-)
Thank you for coming by to chill with me as we celebrate the wonders of ICE. Find out from Dmarks, who he is going to tag to choose this week's word. Now, if only I could get the song ICE, ICE Baby out of my head....

I could have done without a reference to Vanilla Ice (or Rob van Winkle for that matter). Ah, ice cube trays, I used those before I got my fancy, schmancy refrigerator.
The Vanilla Ice "meme" started in this recent post at "Here Comes Johnny Yen". I mentioned Vanilla Ice in my post as a result, and now he is in this one.
Have you chosen the word in a while, Alien?
Why on earth didn't I think of Breyers? I could've just taken snapshot of my hips . . . but I did Fire and Ice instead.
Vanilla Ice must've been on some of our minds right away when we saw the word "Ice", because a few of us have referenced the guy. Oh and I have the old school ice trays too!
You must have gotten rid of the song from your head cos it's in mine now! hehe Chilled... very good. :o)
Cooool
AlienCG: haha! You and your high falutin' appliances!
We could probably all do without the Rob v W references, but all you need to do is say the word 'ice' and there he is.
Dmarks: There is no avoiding the Vanilla, when we speak of ice. Your post was superb.
Gerry: Thanks for stopping by! I loved your post. You have an interesting blog :-)
Tara: His whole body must be tingling after all this talk!
I'm glad I'm not the only one without the fancy door doohickey :-)
Daffy: Ah, successfully passed along! Yay!
NoRegrets: What's cooler than being cool?
My fancy door doohickey is non-functional. We operate on a cube tray system. Best of both worlds. :P
Nice half gallons! *wolf whistle!*
K_Sra: A very nice compromise :-) And, oh, you are making me blush!
Mmmmmm. Ice cream is always good. I don't care how cold it is outside.
Churlita: I totally agree. No temperature based embargo on ice cream!
I love that chocolate icecream. We put it on icecream cones and eat all summer.
