When I saw that Tara had put up her favorite song lyrics to celebrate (late) a scheduled Taraday, I had to jump on that bandwagon. Lyrics! But then I had to decide which lyrics to post? There are so, so, so many to choose from. So then Evil-E posted his democratic Top 5 Long Songs list and it all became perfectly clear. Thus, I give you, the lyrics to.......
Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) Lyrics
When I wake up well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who wakes up next to you
When I go out yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
If I get drunk well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who gets drunk next to you
And if I haver yeah I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's havering to you
But I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the man who walked 1,000 miles
To fall down at your door
When I'm working yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's working hard for you
And when the money comes in for the work I'll do
I'll pass almost every penny on to you
When I come home oh I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home to you
And if I grow old well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who's growing old with you
-chorus-
When I'm lonely well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man whose lonely without you
And when I'm dreaming well I know I'm gonna dream
I'm gonna dream about the time when I'm with you
When I go out well I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who goes along with you
and when I come home yes I know I'm gonna be
I'm gonna be the man who comes back home with you
I'm gonna be the man whose coming home with you.
-chorus-
I mean tell me that you can listen to that song without singing along and feeling good! BTW, I looked at an online dictionary and this is what it means to "haver": To maunder; to talk foolishly; to chatter. Aw! Thats cute, right? Foolish talk!

Ok, it's haver....there is a word aver that means to state with confidence (which would fit)...
Glad to have planted a seed for a post!! As always, links are good.
actually, there is a remake of this song by a band named Down By Law and the "whatever that means" is a lyric in the cover.
I do like that song. I used to have the cassette single back in the day.
Tell me about it, I can't even look at the lyrics without hearing the music! Plus, I can't help to form a Scottish accent while singing it. And thank you for looking up "haver"! For some reason I thought it mean puking because he's talking about getting drunk next to his luvah. So I thought, "Aw cute, they're even getting sick with each other." I'm dim. ;)
Evil-E: I really appreciate it when others give me ideas for posts. I have heard that cover and it is so funny, because no one ever knows what that is!
AlienCG: It's really cool, yet I don't think I know anything else by those guys.
Tara: Absolutely, must do the Scottish accent! I do it when I sing Belle and Sebastion songs too :-)
You are so not dim! I like your idea about havering being puking. That is true love, especially if you are a drinker!
I always remember the video with the freaky looking Scottish twins.
Churlita: Yeah, right! Very nerd fabulous, those two.
