Poem #20

I can't believe it's been 13 years since the day you were born
My memories of that day are so clear
Although many of the ones in between then and now are muddled
In my overstuffed mother's mind
I can still see the glorious panoramic view
Of your life glowing behind you and shining in front of you
My baby, my Handsome Lad, I couldn't be more proud
What a little man you've become
This past year has been a revelation as you've matured
Always a treasure to me, always my greedy delight
I think the world is starting to see what I've always known
You're a wonder
You can break my heart with a single word
But you can mend it just the same
Happy Birthday, Daniel
I love you more than my poor words can say

So nice.

Reminds me that I utterly failed with the poetry challenge... oh well. I'll start later.

NoRegrets: Thanks. And I think the poetry challenge vs you is more just a timing issue. Busy woman!

Tara: It was a wonderful birthday. Thank you so much.

Ananada: Thank you and thank you :-) Mother love is an awesome force of nature, isn't it.

Sebastien: Thank you. It is hard to express very strong feelings sometimes, but poetry is a good forum.
He had a great birthday :-)

Secret: Thanks!

Churlita: Once again, I'm forced to see how time flies. He is a sweet boy and I have every hope he will keep that quality as he grows up.
