There's One For You, Nineteen for Me

Welcome to Choose and Defend Wednesday, your chance to tell it like it is.  Tomorrow is tax day, so I've had my mind on my money, money on my mind, and all that.  This question works for income tax refunds or really any "extra" money that you should come upon.  Or maybe it is even a more general question about the nature of your relationship with money.  So what are you going to do with that cash?

Spend It
OR

Save It

Now, I do understand that your answer is probably, most realistically, BOTH.  However, get past that and tell me what would really happen to money in your hands if your true nature got to take charge.  Choose and then Defend!  Simple as that.  Just because it's Wednesday.

That's an excellent question.. If I had to I would save it.. but with our car and a few other things gone awry as of late we will have to spend it.. and that's if we get money back.. which we still haven't looked into..

Saving money is the responsible and adult thing to do. What's the fun in that? It's more fun getting new stuff, so I'm gonna spend it. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go do some shopping.

This year I actually opened a savings account and saved my money! Although usually when I get my refund, I do save it, but not for long. I choose "save it"!

I'm a saver saver saver. It's difficult for me to spend money. But I'm learning... ;-)

I'd love to be able to save, but I am soooo house poor and over extended.I spent mine and then some. Sigh.

I recommend saving it, but do as I say, not as I do. I've found myself to be a terrible saver. My refund's long since spent.

Mrs: Hmmm...so what I think I am hearing is that you WANT to save, but circumstances have prevented it. So I am going to put you down as One for Save It. Because what counts here is desire.

MrManuel: See, now that is clear! :-) One for Spend It.

AlienCG: I like the way you think, Mr. CoffeeGround! Two for Spend It.

Tara: I admire your sense of responsibility! Very cool. Two for Save It.

NoRegrets: I guess it is always nice to find that balance there. Three for Save It.

Churlita: Another answer I must ponder over a bit. Sounds like maybe you'd prefer to save if you could? I will put you down as Four for Save It.

KenV: Another mixed message...you folks :-) However, in your case I am sensing more of a choice to spend? So I am making you Three for Spend It.

Everyone: Right now, due to some personal calls of mine, Saving is ahead of Spending with a narrow margin of 4-3. If any of you feel I misread your deepest, hidden desires, feel free to correct me. And if you haven't gotten opinionated yet, well, come on!

Gotta spend to make money ;)

Guess I'm a spender, so long as what I spend on maintains value and is resellable. Kind of a cop out, haha.

Sebastien: Oh, very cool! You have come along and made this race into a perfect tie.

Sidenote...if you hadn't guessed, I am a spender.
