I Really Can't Complain

Still waiting on that hot water. I ran over to Lowe's this morning, early, and got the part. Now all I need is a tiny German man to make his way over and install it. He can come in and admire the dirty dishes in the sink that have built up over a couple of days with no hot water. Girlie Girl got her shower at her dad's and I got my sexy sponge bath, so I think our hygiene is handled for the moment...but, dude, he better get over there today.

And guess what else? My car broke down! It happened last night as I was driving home from work. Of course it was one of my nights, so it was about 9:30 when it happened. Luckily, I was quite near home. My car just...stopped. Ooops, no power. I called Girlie Girl to come over with her Auto Club card. I have one too, but I've already burned through my uses for this year. Her grandma got her one of the de-luxe ones, so we have that at least. I had the car towed to WTG's again. This all sounds familiar, right? haha! Yeah. His mechanic can look at it, hopefully today. Meanwhile, I can drive Girlie Girl's car. So, it all could be worse. I have my finger's crossed that it won't be anything too crazy. Doesn't matter how much it is, I will probably have to borrow from my poor mom...but I'd rather it be less than more, of course.
So, meh, a couple little issues, but otherwise I can't complain. And as I mentioned, even those little issues could be worse. I'm very fortunate in many ways. I have people around me willing to help. It is nice to be reminded of that. I'm used to being broke and owing people money, I will get through this. Best of all, it isn't really just me that has to get through this. As DR reminded me when I was telling him about all of this, we are in this together...we are, in fact, a WE (not to be confused with a Wii). Anyway, it made me feel incredibly cared for and fortunate. So, if you need a glass half full view, come around here. I'm pouring..

What an awesome, supportive thing for DR to say! I love that!

I'm so sorry that the car broke down, though, and you're still without hot water. I hope the little German dude comes soon and fixes everything!

And if that car just stopped, could it have been the battery? Maybe they just need to replace the battery. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Hopefully the little German man will make it over today (or already made it). People deserve hot water.

I hope your car gets better quickly and you are back behind the wheel in no time. And it's good that you have somebody so supportive like DR.

Wow... I applaud your attitude laura b.! I am sorry for your troubles even if they could be worse... and you're right, it can always get worse.

DR sounds like a dream! Yay! I am happy for you. Being a WE is a wonderful thing that can counter balance so much and put you on the happy side of life. You deserve that.

Tara: I feel very lucky.
Keep thinking good water and car thoughts as nothing is resolved yet! Guh.

AlienCG: The fun just keeps on going. Looks like it is going to be one of those weeks. But I do appreciate DR...and all of you nice peeps too :-)

MrManuel: Thanks. I just hope something gets fixed soon!

Ananda: By today I am slipping a bit, but I'm determined to look at the bright side. Wish me luck with that...
Having DR in my life does help with all of that in a major way :-)

Pamela: haha! Just having a Def Leopard moment? It happens.

Wow. DR sounds great. I haven't had any support like that in years and years. Sigh.

I'm sure your mom is glad to help. I know if my girls needed some help with their car or whatever, and I could do it. I would.

Churlita: It is pretty unfamiliar to me. Almost baffling.
My mom is very supportive. I wish I could do more for her and more for my kids when they need it.

So sorry about the car. Even more sorry about the lack of hot water, that would drive me crazy. Big hugs for you, it's almost the weekend!

Sebastien: I remind myself that it could be worse.
I finally got hot water again and hopefully will have my car for the weekend. Yay!
