Oh, the Hullabaloo!

Not to harp on about it...but I'm going to anyway...it has been sooo busy at work!  I guess this is the time of year when I truly earn my keep :-)

Saturday I hosted my annual tween party.  This year, it was called Tourist Trap Tween Party, to go along with our One World, Many Stories summer reading program theme.  I had a great turnout and it went very well.  It was a difficult day though, as one co-worker called in sick.  That left only two of us to cover the eight hours on the desk...while I needed time to set up for, present, and clean up after my program.  That meant that my super robot boss had an awful lot of desk time...it couldn't be helped...and I went from having one hour to having three.  And the place was packed.

Sunday was a pretty peaceful and quiet day.  I slept in a bit and then just mostly sat with Girlie Girl and Handsome Lad around the air conditioner and around the pool.  Later on, in the evening, Girlie Girl hosted a spa session with our lovely Miss Personality and Love Bug.
Pictured here: Girlie Girl provides a nice pedicure to Miss Personality, while Love Bug waits her turn.  I believe Handsome Lad was offering massage services...
or a beating.  One or the other...

Today has once again been very fraught with activity, as only a Monday can be.  We are, however, beginning Week 4 (of 6) so the end is in sight.  Soon, I will be back to slacking for a living ;-)  I mean, when I think of how my Facebook and Twitter accounts suffer on days such as these, I just want to cry.  However, I will bravely carry on.

Ha! I love the family spa time. I've has some massages that felt like beatings. =;-)

Busy times at work = quick but exhausting days. I think your tween party sounds like fun! I'm glad it was a success and your robot boss survived.

Ah the "noogie" spa treatment! It's very stylish and European!

I'm glad that you had a peaceful lounging day after the understaffed Tween party! It sounds like it was a success, though. You work so hard for those events and I know the families appreciate it.

Silly: haha! Handsome Lad may have found his future career :-)
The party was a lot of fun, well worth the effort. Summer does make me feel very useful...

Tara: Yes, yes...it's European :-D I think we can charge extra for that.
I am lucky in that the families to express appreciation. Great feeling.

NoRegrets: Say it ain't so!

A friend was telling me recently about massages in Afghanistan where they would "beat on you like a side of beef for an hour." He actually saw this as a good thing. Me, I like a gentle massage.

I guess you can at least take heart from the fact that so many children want to read.

This summer seems to be a particularly long one.

Stay strong and keep breathing, it's the best advice I can give right now. It will be all over soon and you will be able to use Twitter and Facebook (and Google+) to your heart's content.

Handsome Lad looks as if he is performing the Heimlich maneuver on Miss Personality. I hope everything was okay over there.

MI: Thanks! You too :-)

Secret: We will not sign you up for the Handsome Lad plan...Jesus and Mary have the touch!

BB: I do have a great appreciation for the importance this community places on reading and education.
Does it seem long to you, with all your adventures? For me it is mostly passing quickly, although some days feel endless.

AlienCG: Sometimes when I am all wrung out I remember your words of wisdom - stay calm. haha! I try, I try.
Everything went okay, in spite of the manhandling. Those two should really take their show on the road :-)
