There'll Be Spandex Jackets, One for Everyone.

Today, Wednesday, is yesterday's future.  Also, today is Choose and Defend Wednesday.  Let's put these ideas together, like the peanut butter and the chocolate, and see what happens.  See...we were promised things as we grew up.  Very special futuristic things.  So far, things haven't been quite as visualized.  But what if we got something.  What vision from the future would you most like to have (Choose) and why (Defend)?

Do you want your...

Flying Car

OR

Robot Servant

The future is now!  Choose and Defend!

as much as I would like to have my very own flying car.. I think having an extra set of (metal) hands to help me out.. as long as it could cook, clean and do laundry.. I could picture it .. I will choose robot servant..

No contest, flying car by far. I had kids so I wouldn't need a robot.

Sorry, I forgot to defend. I choose flying car cause it'd be awesome.

Just awesome.

Anything a Robot Servant can do, I can do better. These simply would not do for Type-A personalities such as myself.

I opt for the Flying Car (Read: Minivan), as long as it runs on (free) air. And as long as there are no four-way stops or "No Left Turn Between the Hours of...."

I am going to use a little logic on this one and answer it with a little seriousness. While the prospect of a flying car sounds incredibly useful and time-saving, there is a major issue with the idea...no backup plan. If something goes wrong and the engine dies, you had better have a parachute or be able to survive a long fall. To that end, a ROBOT SERVANT is always a good idea just as long as it could walk up and down the basement steps frequently.

I don't know about this one - I've seen too many sci fi movies where things have gone wrong with both, like the robot servants suddenly turning on their human owners...then there's Skinet and Terminator...(shiver). And I don't like the idea of a robot in my livingroom while I'm trying to sleep.

I guess I'll go with the flying car!

Here via Anada Gorl. Flying Car. Robots seem to me to have the capacity to turn bad and then you'd be at their mercy. Remember "I, Robot?" And a flying car would just be too cool.

Well my sense of fun yells... flying car! But my sense of reason tells me that my cars die... and after 35 years of taking care of everyone else... darn it! I want a robot to take care of me!

I think if I could have a robot that cleaned up, could project hologram movies, play a mean game of chess and who could open cans and bring me a cold beer while watching the TV: I'd go for the robot. Can I have the R2D2 type? I also don't like heights, so another reason not to go with the car.

Mrs: I think your choice makes good sense for the mother of a toddler :-) One for Robot Servant.

KenV: haha! I think the fact that you already have indentured servants on hand is a good defense, but you went above and beyond! Awesome, for sure. One for Flying Car.

Ailina: That is the good thing about this game...you can totally have it your way :-) Two for Flying Car.

AlienCG: I can appreciate a bit of logic! Hey, remember in Robocop when that one robot thing couldn't manage the stairs? Don't get one like that. Two for Robot Servant.

Tara: I like the way your mind works! That was kind of my thinking too, I admit it. Three for Flying Car.

Secret: Yes! I think you make a very good argument here. And I'm glad you stopped in! Four for Flying Car.

Ananda: Aw! Yes, you deserve a little TLC! Three for Robot Servant.

FW: Absolutely, you can have it your way...your dream robot! Why not? R2D2 was quite adorable. Four for Robot Servant.

Churlita: I'd never discount the cool factor :-) Five for Flying Car.

Everyone: Wow! This is a close one with Flying Cars ahead by a narrow margin of 5-4. Anyone else care to join in? Come on, you know you want to...

Flying car. I like flying. Would probably be dangerous as well, which is a major plus in my book.

Sebastien: haha! Yes, you do seem drawn to danger :-) And you make Six for Flying Car.
