It's Compromise That Moves Us Along

There are a couple of things that we tend to invoke when we feel like someone is maybe trying to be a little bit too bright and cheery.  They live opposite our darker sides.  For this Choose and Defend Wednesday, I am going to ask you to look into puffy clouds of your soul and Choose the one that makes you smile (or, I know you bittertons, maybe throw up in your mouth a little) even during your darkest days.  Defend your choice.  Why, I ask you, why?

Smile!  Today the world is all...

Rainbows

OR

Butterflies

Choose and Defend and take a walk on the bright side.

Rainbows! I rarely get to see one anymore, but when I do I don't want to take my eyes off of it. But it's usually when I'm driving somewhere, so eventually I do have to watch what I'm doing. :)

Rainbows.. They are rare and sometimes unseen by the human eye.. They don't last long and if ever there were a pot of gold at the end.. I would want to know.. Butterflies are pretty and all, but really not the same as a rainbow..

Butterflies! I associate them with excitement, movement, air, flight, freedom... all things that cause me to soar.

Every masculine bone in my body is telling me to skip this one...

So, because apparently there aren't enough of those, I vote rainbows. It's a good reminder.

I have a friend who is terrified of butterflies. I love them, but rainbows are more rare (or rarer?) so I'll go with rainbows.

Butterflies. I love their flight pattern. They are fantastic creatures. We get monarchs here, I think in May, soooo cool.

Tara: I seem to be driving a lot when I see rainbows too. I wonder why? One for Rainbows.

Mrs: I can see why you'd value something rare. And if you find that gold, don't forget your old friends :-) Two for Rainbows.

Ananda: I like that! I think your mind is very butterfly like :-) One for Butterflies.

KenV: I know that real men aren't afraid to show their softer side, so I thank you! There is that promise aspect, isn't there...
Three for Rainbows.

Churlita: All bugs or just butterflies? So, you are going with the rare factor too, and....
Four for Rainbows.

Sebastien: They really are amazing and beautiful. Fascinating to see one...awesome to see a flock or whatever they'd be. Two for Butterflies.

Everyone: Rainbows are ahead of Butterflies 4-2 thus far. It is the battle for your smile! Anyone else who wants to Choose and Defend should certainly do so.

I remember I went to a nature show in Chicago by Lincoln park, and they had a room full of plants and flowers, and within this room was a kaleidoscope of butterflies flying around. They would land on your arm and fly all around. Very memorable and surreal.
