I Am Not a Monster!

Dang, there was this whole thing on my Facebook page.  I updated my status last night after dinner so that everyone would know about my delicious meal.  People want to know this stuff, right?    Anyway, apparently there was some confusion over mahi mahi, which I believe is cleared up now.  One of my friends basically chastised me for eating Flipper.  Geez!  Still, it made me laugh and prepare a tutorial should this arise again somehow.

Okay, here is a mahi mahi:

It is sometimes called a dolphin fish, but it is NOT, in fact, an actual dolphin.  It is more like a tuna or something.   And it is delicious.  Last night at Sergio's it was par-tic-u-lar-ly delicious.  I didn't take a photo, but it was along these lines:

Yummy and not at all evil.  Mine actually came with refried beans and Spanish rice.

So, in conclusion, I am not a monster.  It is true, I am not vegan.  For some, that might qualify me for monsterhood.  But at least I did not chow down on Flipper.

Thank you for your support.

That looks delicious, and how funny that someone jumped to criticize you without even knowing what they were talking about. That is a pet peeve of mine. Not, I hasten to add, the sort of pet one would of course refrain from eating. Peeves are vegetable, I believe. :)

Dolphins are aquatic mammals. Mahi Mahi is a fish. It's only called dolphin in Hawaii and Samoa (if I'm right). I am a fan of Mahi Mahi.

I;ve been eating it for years....I think it was cleared up back in the 80s...

That is one ugly fish! It deserves to be eaten. Flipper on the hand (or fin) should not be eaten... I believe you.

Jim Gaffigan talking about vegetarians:

Vegetarian: Do you know what they did to that chicken you're eating?

Jim Gaffigan: No, but it's delicious.

I'm not a Vegan either...or a vegetarian.

I didn't know what mahi mahi looked like, but I just assumed you weren't eating Flipper. For goodness sake, people are so touchy!

So did you call your dinner Flipper...?

Secret: It was sort of odd and really didn't even make much sense.

I like my peeves served with a heapin' helpin' of adorable little kitten fricassee :-)

AlienCG: I tried that exact same track, but somehow the discussion continued!

Okay, when you come to dinner I will make mahi mahi. And adorable little kitten.

TNP: Apparently some things are never really cleared up. They just go dormant or something.

Daffy: Thank you for believing in my lack of monsterness! I'd do the same for you.

Tara: haha! I like that...Jim Gaffigan is so funny :-)

Sometimes people just get these ideas and off they go! Ah, the joys of Facebook.

Pamela: I just called it Good Eatin'! If I called it Flipper, it might confuse people. Oh, wait...it already did. Damnit.

That mahi mahi creature looks weird. Kinda goofy lookin', ya know. I've eaten mahi mahi before, but I forget if I liked it.

I'm convinced food servers don't explain what a 'dolphin fish' is just to see stupid peoples reactions.

Sorry, not 'stupid', just misinformed...severely misinformed.

I love mahi mahi. I've always thought it was tuna. Funny how people pounce before they know.

Sebastien: I think fish, in general, tend to look sort of weird and goofy. You should try it again sometime. It is delicious. Bears like fish.

KenV: haha! Good save :-) That, my friend, is why you are a leader!

Churlita: Yes, it is quite like a tuna. It was one of my weirdest wall arguments :-)

That is a good point, bears do like fish. I like mine fried.
