Today Was a Good Day

I loved his inauguration speech. I think it made us all feel hopeful...and for the first time in a while (I'm speaking for myself here) proud to be an American. My son Social Animal (19) called me up because he didn't know who else to tell that listening to President Obama's speech while driving to work had moved him to tears. I totally got it. It is a dark time in our history, but today brought hope that we will get through this and we will all be better people for it.

I hope the feeling of optimism stretches over here...we could certainly do with it.
So glad you had a good day!

I just hope he truly is different from the rest of what we've had in my lifetime. I hope the new guy works out.

Churlita: It was nice that it was one of my late days so I could easily see it at home. My work was very accomodating though and for that morning allowed streaming media at our desks so that people here could watch.

AlienCG: The new guys seems intelligent and determined. I want to believe it is a new age.

The part of the speech I did hear from CNN replaying it brought tears to my eyes.

Poor guy doesn't have too much pressure on him. Eek. Makes my job feel like a day at the spa.

Tara: He has the pressure of both coming into a horrible mess and so many people believing that he will fix the horrible mess! Yes he can :-)

But he does have Michelle and those two girls on his side.
