Bending the Laws of Time and Space, Just For You.

Well, I am happy to report that I am feeling more lively on this fine Choose and Defend Wednesday. It definitely did help to have a good 45 minutes in the sun at lunch time. Plus, Girlie Girl had late start today, so I got up at 6:45 instead of 6:00. Woot!

And guess what? Today, I am giving you the gift of time travel! Ooh! Aah! But now, as I try to harrangue you into doing each Wednesday, you must make a choice. You are indeed going to travel through space and time...but where are you going? And lets say you might end up having to stay there...so choose wisely.

You may choose to travel to...

The 18th Century

Or you may choose to travel to...

The 24th Century

Tell us where you want to go. Or at least where you will accept going. Choose. Then, tell us why you want to go. Or why it wouldn't be as bad as the other choice. Defend. It's what we do here on Wednesdays, so let's hear it!

Oh lord - 24th! Who wants filth and disease and such.

And see Churlita's blog - she had really chosen the word herself. Maintenance.

24th century. Buck Rogers is defending us on the final frontier, those damn dirty apes are happily enslaved and sweeping our concourses while wearing red jumpsuits, and Soylent Green provides us all the nutrition we need.

I'll be different and say the 18th century - back in the peaceful age we didn't have cell phones and Blackberries. On the other hand though, we didn't have computers which could be a blessing and a curse. No blogging! Eek!

24th century. The world for women wasn't too great in the 18th century.

Plus, I think there was a misunderstanding. I didn't choose the Saturday Scavenger hunt word. I said the word for my life this week was maintenance because I was so busy. Nor Still needs to choose the Saturday Scavenger hunt word.

NoRegrets: Maybe there will be even more filth and disease in the 24th! We don't know :-) But I take your point.

Dmarks: There you go, a very good defense of the 24th century option!

Tara: Thanks for showing us the softer side of the 18th century...low tech human interactions! Instead of blogging we'd be sending our footmen out with scented notes or something...if we were wealthy.

Churlita: There is that. Women didn't have much going on for them until relatively recently. Let's hope there is no regression by the 24th!

Everyone: The 24th Century is ahead with a score of 3 - 1 at this point. Anyone else want to speak up? Please?

AND, see my post above, re Sat Scav word...

Hmmm, let's examine the choices:

18th century--No electricity, computers, cars, good music or indoor plumbing. They do, however, have plenty of plague, filth and witch burnings.

24th century--It's gotta be better than the 18th century. The Internet has got to be even better.

I'll choose the 24th century.

AlienCG: I like the optimism in this group! No future dystopia for you people :-) 24th it is!

Sorry 18th, it is practically a shut out here for you.
