Like many other bloggers, I couldn't resist mentioning that today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! You might want to check out the official website HERE. Pirates are blood thirsty brutes, but we can't help loving them, can we? My favorite pirates are the ones in the "Pirate!" books by Gideon Defoe. Very comical...and they love ham...and thick luxurious beards.
Your Pirate Name Is... |
So...get your pirate name and get to jabberin' or I'll make you walk the plank! Or I'll just take away all of your citrus fruits so that you come down with a terrible case of scurvy! Thats right...you don't mess with Captain Fanny LaBouche. Um, yes...thats right...Captain Fanny LaBouche...whats so funny? I will not be mocked!!!!

I cannot talk like a pirate at all...I have no pirate in my blood. I am what they call a land lubber.
Evil-E: I have to confess that with my propensity for sea sickness I would probably be destined to be a landlubber too.
I've been to many places around this country, but no areas with a dense pirate population. I really have no knowledge of the culture of pirates except what I've seen on TV.
Arr...I'm Iron Fanny La Bouche. Savvy? Related we must be. But ye be the captain.
Can't help but laugh at the names they come up..lol
AlienCG: Haven't you ever been to Arrrrrrkansas?
Tara: haha! Iron Fanny! That must be like buns of steel without the rigorous workouts!
Mrs.BHW: Pirate names are the greatest. Very descriptive.
This talk like a pirate day is kind of fun. I love all the posts about it.
Churlita: Personally, I would be willing to celebrate it monthly :-)
