After my last sad post, a few people commented that I should consider getting away for a day. After the day I have had today that suggestion is sounding better and bettter.
First off, it is always busy at the library on Saturdays. I guess between it being the only day some people have time to come, and other people just looking for something to do, it is bound to be busy. Still, today has been especially taxing for some reason...and I suspect that it is not them...it's me. And, in fact, I am not actually having problems with patrons. It is more the way this place seems to be sort of falling apart somehow. I can't find anything! Nothing is where it should be! That is pretty problematic in a library. People get frustrated, although no one has been unhinged about it. In fact, I think today not being able to find things has bothered me more than any of the actual book seekers.
So, now that I am off the desk I decided to decompress by making a little list of things to look forward to:
1. Most immediately, the drive home. I usually enjoy my drives to and from work. Hopefully there will be some good tunes on XM. Alternatively, I could listen to CDs.
2. WTG was supposed to take Handsome Lad and go to his brother's house today. I haven't spoken to anyone today, but hopefully that happened. If so, I may have a peaceful house to look forward to upon my return. (I am speaking more of WTG being gone than Handsome Lad...)
3. In the near future many of my favorite shows will be returning with all new episodes to enjoy. I am especially excited about House, The Office, Grey's Anatomy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Dexter, to name a few off the top of my head...by the way, is anyone else watching Mad Men? Excellent!
4. If things go as they tend to, I should be seeing Team C soonish. That would be good.
5. And, tomorrow is Sunday...and I just might take that little getaway if at all possible....
What are you looking forward to in the short and/or long run?

I know what I have been up to of late....I cannot complain at all.
My next few weeks are chocked full of an assorted olio of events ranging from metal shows to a 3rd birthday party. Miss R's birthday is at the end of the month as well, but that, for me, is a long-term thing right now. The football season begins full force tomorrow and now will be the true litmus test of how bad I got it for Miss R. (I think she will win)I am a busy little man the next couple of weeks....
Evil-E: ...a busy little man... hee hee! I feel excited on your behalf. It is so fun starting something new and full of possibilities.
I'm just looking forward to spending my time relaxing and enjoying myself. I always look forward to time at home.
AlienCG: If I traveled as much as you do on business, perhaps I would learn to appreciate being home more. I should learn to appreciate it anyway.
It's a good exercise to think about looking forward. Although Monday isn't far off, so I tend to feel slightly depressed at how short the weekend is every Sunday. I'm looking forward to taking my son to his first football game in october. I'm looking forward to seeing some shows that my wife has booked us to go see this autumn. I'm looking forward to guitar class, starting tomorrow evening. There, I do feel better - thanks!
I'm going to a rock show with my girlfriends on Thursday night and taking Friday off. I can't wait for all of it.
Take a nice trip.
Hope you took that much deserved trip getting away from it all sometimes helps to put things into perpsective...
i need to watch Mad Men but i keep forgetting to add it to the To Do list.
short term i want to be staying alive, staying alive.
long term... i got nuthin' - maybe i'll post more about that this week instead of my usual nonsense.
I do hope you get some down feel good time. Everyone needs that. With the few weeks I've had - I am looking to going away in October!

BBakaBHW: A little perspective is a great thing, that's for sure!
MiniJonB: Try to work Mad Men in, I think you'd like it.
You and the two remaining Bee Gees, stayin' alive, huh...that's a fine thing to enjoy.
I will hope to read more about your long term expectations for this wonderful life :-)
