My Quiet Time

Yesterday after lunch, my dad and stepmom took Girlie Girl and Handsome Lad back to their house in Malibu for a couple of days. The kids like the beach and getting to go shopping (and they do need some back to school stuff) and mom likes a couple days feeling almost childfree. I love that quiet time, I do, but I also sort of feel lonely. Pathetic! I am going to treat myself to some sort of nice dinner on my own this evening, get a big fat magazine, and watch things I have been wanting to watch from my Tivo. I need to learn to enjoy not being...needed.

Enjoy the quiet time....I do not have kids, but I think I can understand. Good dinner, some TV, and a magazine sound like a good way to just let go for a bit.

I hope you get what you wish for...Peace and quiet.. I love that time too but always feel guilty for wanting time to myself..

Work makes me appreciate my quiet time. I love it. And you're always needed!

Malibu sounds soooo nice!

Enjoy it - you deserve it.

Evil-E: You certainly don't have to have kids to appreciate quiet time. We all need it now and then.

FW: Yes, you can appreciate it, can't you!

BabyBull: Even mums deserve there own time. Honestly though it is only as my youngest has reached double digits that I feel I've really gotten much.

Tara: It really is wonderful to have time to yourself. I am just still learning to let myself enjoy it.
Malibu is beautiful. I may never get my daughter back :-)

Viki: Thank you so much. I am trying to remember that.

We all definitely need quiet time now and then. TIVO is hard to keep up with sometimes!

I'm so jealous of your quiet time. IF you feel lonely, call up your girlfriends and get drinks and appetizers somewhere. You'll forget that you even have kids.

MrManuel: I love my Tivo, but sometimes it does feel like one more thing I'm neglecting.

Churlita: Good advice!
