It's Official (Again) - I Am White Trash

Today I got a phone call from home with the fabulous news that my electricity had been shut off. It was TOTALLY my fault. I meant to call by yesterday when it was due and get an extension until Friday when my check hits the bank, but I just dropped the ball. I was able to call and get it back on fairly quickly, but everyone who was home at the time (especially WTG) are super pissed at me. They were inconvenienced briefly, but the end result is that I look like such a major loser. Oh, well. What's new there? Cue the dueling banjos, please.

Let's look to happier topics, shall we? I wanted to tell you about my fun dinnertime break on Monday. I had dinner, as I often do, with my little bear friend Milly. She is the rock n roll librarian. On Monday, her friend and bandmate, lets call him Giblert, dropped by with his guitar. We went into the auditorium and I got to listen to their impromptu rehearsal. It was fun! They even let me make requests. I wanted Dancing Queen and they gave it a very fair shot :-) They both kept apologizing for mistakes and saying they didn't sound good, and I couldn't seem to make them believe that it was a pleasure to hear them working on their songs like that. I so envy people who can sing and/or play instruments. My singing voice is awful and I have never learned and instrument. I'd love to though, so maybe someday I will. Don't you think the cello is so sexy?

I neglected to pay my cable/high speed bill. I could blame it on the fact that online billing isn't as easy for me as it should be, and that I'm too used to the bill arriving by mail. But yeah, I neglected to pay it and they shut it off. That was a wake-up call. No TV! Not internet! Yikes!

Beyond the inconvenience of getting something shut off, I find it rather humiliating...
Yeah, the electric bill was soooo high this month that I had only paid half of it. They shut me off for HALF A MONTH worth of a bill! Do you believe that? Harsh.

Same thing happened with me and the gas last month. You definitely feel like a loser.

I agree on the music thing. My weaknes: a man with a harmonica.
