I Feel Safest of All

It has been so very hot and humid around here for the past few weeks. Nothing to be done but to stay indoors, in the pool, or maybe take a cruise in your super fancy car. That's right! For this week's Choose and Defend Wednesday you are getting your very own super fancy car! For the sake of Choose and Defend, let's say that any maintainance will be handled for you...don't let the little things bother you. Just Choose what sort of car you are most drawn to and tell us why. The 'why' is essential...essential I tell you! The 'why' is the defense of your choice and you gots to have a defense in Choose and Defend, naturally.

What'll it be Mac?

Brand New Car
OR

Fully Restored Classic Car

Choose and Defend. Then let's drive off into the sunset, shall we? Thanks for playing!

I gotta go with BRAND NEW. While there are many classic cars that I like out there (1977 Pontiac Gran Prix, '67 Stingray, etc.), with gas prices going the way they are, I have to be a bit more responsible with my dime. Unlike the 80's and 90's, a lot of today's cars have a style all their own. No longer do all cars looks alike and that makes me happy. So, my final answer is BRAND NEW CAR!

Jasen makes a valid point...but since maintenence is being taken care of by someone else I have to go with a classic car.

Gotta go with brand new. Especially if it's an Aston Martin or Lamborghini or McClaren or something else super fast. Fun!

I've long had a thing for old cars, so this should be easy but it isn't. If this car is going to be my only mode of transportation I have to go new car. They're safer, faster, more efficient, and quieter.

But if this is a knock around weekend car or a second vehicle then without question I'm going with a classic. Who wouldn't want an E-Type Jaguar, a '53 Corvette, a Shelby Mustang? It's as close as most of us ever get to owning true art.

Classic car. Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang, to be precise. And yes, the flying model.

Oo, I like the brand new car. It'll have that new car smell, there won't be any previous owners and I love the red.

The word for tomorrow will be SPICE.

Jasen: It is interesting to see in movies from the 80's and 90's how easy it is to tell when they were made because of the boxy cars. You're right, there is more variety now! One for New Car.

Silver: Yes, there is no burden to you in this Choose and Defend! One for Classic Car.

3GK: You feel the need...the need for speed :) Two for New Car.

James: Since this is about a fantastic fantasy, let's give you what you really want...take the art. Two for Classic Car.

Dmarks: Here is man who knows how to live! Three for Classic Car.

Tara: Oooohhh, new car smell :-D That is a good defense! Three for New Car.
And thanks for the word :)

Everyone: Oh my, we have a tie. It is now 3-3. Anyone else reading? Please speak up and tie break for us!

I'm going to go new (electric) car because engineers have gotten so good at improving driver comfort that a new car is bound to provide a better driving experience. And if it doesn't use petrol it might be helping the environment too.

FW: Thank you Mr. Tie-Breaker! I love your defense too :) Four for New Car.

The score is now 4-3 with Brand New Cars slightly ahead of Fully Restored Classic Cars.
