Vacation Destination

Choose and Defend! It is time to Choose and Defend! That is what we do on Wednesday and today is no exception.  I have some time off coming up soon. Although I won't be able to take an actual traveling vacation, I am happy to have some time off. If I could travel though...oh, the places I'd go! haha! Just fund me and I'm off :-D

So, let's take an imaginary vacation and decide where to go.  I did a little search to find some top vacation destinations and narrowed it down, as always, to two choices.  Where would you Choose to go on your vacation? Why? Even if one of these wouldn't be your first choice, please play along. In comments, you can always expand on your defense to include your number one pick.

Paris, France
OR

Rome, Italy

Hmm - tough choice, but I will choose Paris, France. From what I've seen on travel channels and stuff, I think I would really love walking around and sight-seeing. I'd definitely have to re-learn French, though.

Oh that is a very tough choice! But I have always wanted to see the Vatican and all the churches and art work. I know... Paris if famous for that as well, but I have a passion for the Italian Renaissance. Besides, I love Italian food.

While rich food and cheese are always tempting to me, I cannot pass up the chance to see ruins, even if they are all ruined. Rome has a rich history and plenty of ancient photo opportunities. So I am going to say, ROME, final answer.

Tara: A couple of my kids took French in high school...I only have a bit of the Espanol :)
One for Paris.

Silly: Your reasons are good! I like Italian food too :)
One for Rome.

Jasen: There is something very compelling about ruins, I think. Two for Rome.

Everyone: Seems Rome is just ahead with a low scoring game of 2-1. It isn't too late though, if you decide you'd like to travel! Speak up...

Dmarks: I am envious! I haven't been anywhere :) Three for Rome.

Now 3-1, Rome over Paris.
