This was the quote of the day on my iGoogle page and reading it made me feel so reassured -
...do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. - Max Ehremann (excerpt from the poem "Desiderata")
Actually, the entire poem is quite lovely and makes me feel good, but when I read that little quote I just went YES.

Indeed - we all fully belong here.
Secret: Not sure what it is in me that need that reassurance, but I do :-)
I love that poem. I think we all need reassurance.
If we can't feel understood at a moment in time, at least we can be assured that we belong in every moment.
It is a very comforting idea to think that we all have a place, that any one of us is as inherent to this universe as a star or a mountain.
Very nice. It says it all.
Hey, I did too. I love that quote, because it's all too true! The line, "Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness" is painfully true.
Oh! And I chose a new word - EON.
Ananda: Yes, I like being reminded that I am part of something bigger. It helps especially when I am feeling very alone.
BB: It is a nice thought, to realize that we all have our place here. I also like the idea of being gentle on ourselves more often.
Churlita: After I saw the quote, I found the poem and am sure I've read it before. But that little bit really did feel like it said it all for me.
Tara: Oh my goodness, yes. That really struck me too. Sometimes when I am really down, I have to stop and realize how tired I am and how feelings of loneliness get all mixed up in that.
And thank you, Tara! What a great word!!!
