Hang Tough Children

We come together today to bid farewell to my dearly departed 1998 Chevy Cavalier.  Yes, I'm afraid it is the end of the road for my beloved, yet leaky, convertible.  In some ways it is a relief.  I knew that car was living on borrowed time.  Now I am forced to move forward.  I am exceptionally fortunate in that my mom is willing and able to give me some financial support with a newer, more reliable used car.  Also fortunate in that WTG is willing and able to do a lot of the leg work in seeking out a good deal.  I told him I really don't care what it looks like, but it needs to be reliable as all get-out and run on 4 cylinders.  Beyond that, I am not choosy...nor can I really afford to be!  So, here's hoping we can find something cheap, yet running like a top.   So, once again, wish me luck!

Inexpensive, reliable and hopefully fuel-efficient (to save you money over the course of time). Good luck!!

Good luck, I hope you find a sturdy, pretty and most importantly a very reliable car soon!

I'm sorry for the loss of your old car, though. Hopefully it went towards the light.

Good luck with that! I don't envy you at all. If there was anything I'd never do again if I could help it, it's car shopping.

Secret: Yes, all those things are on my list. Fingers crossed.

NoRegrets: ha! Thank you :-)

Tara: Thanks. My car lived a good life and I'll never forget her.

3GK: I am not really up for it. I am accepting my ex's help in the search. He is a much better bargainer than I am and knows what to look for.

Good luck. I hope you find a reliable and reasonably priced car. I hate car problems even more than I hate computer problems.
