I Forgot to Knock on Wood

I knew in my heart that the quiet and relative peace wouldn't last. It blew up last night with yet another WTG freak out. I decided not to dwell upon that though. Whats the point? I would rather take the advice that Tara found about putting a positive spin on things and living a life of gratitude.
I am thankful for:

-My kids and grandkids, above anything and everything. To be able to share my life with these seven cool, interesting people is such a gift.

-The rest of my family and my friends. Even though I sometimes feel alone in the world, I am not. There are people who care for me and look to me for care as well.

-My job. So many people just tolerate or even hate their jobs. For the most part I love mine. How lucky am I?

-My good health. This one always makes me feel superstitious for some reason...but I can't ignore it. Again, I have been fortunate.

-My life is good enough that I can see what a beautiful world that we live in. If enough terrible things happen to someone, I know the ability to see that would be lost...or the concept would become irrelevant. But me? I live in a beautiful world.

apparently you can take this attitude (as you commented over a Tara's)...I think there is a lot to be thankful for despite the fact that there is much to complain about.

I am actually thankful that I do have a lot to complain about!

What a sweet post. I try really hard to focus on what I have and not what I don't have/ Although it can be tougher on some days.

Evil-E: Sometimes it is worth the trouble to take a walk on the brighter side.

Churlita: Thats a fact. It is a good exercise in remembering what really matters.

Viki: It is easy for me to become negative and I try to work against it when I can.

Tara: Inspired by yours!
Thanks :-)

DiDC: From your last post, it seems like you are in a mood to look for things to be glad about too. I hope you'll keep on doing what you do...
