I Love You, Mel. Thintherely

Taradays tell us that today is Mel Blanc Appreciation Day. You all know him and love him for the many fantastic voices he gave to our most enduring cartoon characters. I am putting in this picture because I think it says it all, plus it reminds me that we started this week with a day of remembrance.

Have you heard the CD with all the out takes and studio versions of the cartoon classics. A friend at work lent it to me and it was amazing.

You can almost see all the cartoons while you are listening to it.

Evil-E: I haven't heard that. I imagine it is amazing. He was a rare talent.

One of the things I heard about him is that he was allergic to carrots, and everytime he did Bugs Bunny munching on a carrot, he'd have to spit it out right after.

I do miss "The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show" on Saturday mornings. "Overture, curtain, lights...This is it, we'll hit the heights, And oh what heights we'll hit, On with the show this is it!"

"My Biscuits are burnin'. My biscuits are burnin'" ~ Yosemite Sam
That has to be my favorite line he has ever uttered. How funny would it have been if he had that written as his epitath instead of "That's All Folks"?

Tara: That's funny, I didn't know that! I've always loved Bugs Bunny. One of my favorites Bugs shorts is "What's Opera, Doc?"

MiniJonB: haha! Sylvester with his spitty lisp :-)

Rachel: That is a good line! I sure hope his biscuits aren't burnin'...

Mel Blanc was the bestest. I saw a clip of him on Johnny Carson, he was unbelievable in his talent, and hilarious!
