Make a Fortune Turning Sand to Silicon

It is Wednesday and as usual I am dragging ass through the week.  I'm in a slump.  But I do always look forward to Choose and Defend Wednesday.  This week's question is a kind of standard "this or that" question, but it is one that certainly makes me think!  I'm interested in how you will answer.  Okay...If you had to be stuck on a deserted island for a year would you rather...

Be Alone
OR

Be With Four People You REALLY Dislike

All that is left to do now is make a choice...Choose.  Then, please elaborate about why you would make that choice...Defend.  And that is how we play Choose and Defend Wednesday!  Thank you for making my week :-)

Ha! Love the "friends" photo!

Okay... hummmm... I can see some stress related behavior issues in that situation. But I think I would need the assistance of others to help me figure out how to survive being stranded. Especially if there are monkeys involved, I'd need protection. Oh and a spider slayer too. It might be chaos at times, but in the end we would work out a team attitude.
BTW monkeys hate me.

I look forward to your Choose and Defends, too. And oh, my God - this is a toughie. My first impulse was to say Alone! But Silly Rabbit raises a good point. I'm not worried about monkeys, but it would be easier to survive with others. So I'm very reluctantly and unhappily choosing to be stranded with the goombahs and hope they will grow on me.

Oo, another good question!

I'd rather be alone with my thoughts and my resources instead of have to deal with annoying people I hate and who would just slow me down. They sap my strength, whereas solitude usually gives me energy.

No question: I would choose the four people I dislike. Being by yourself for an entire year would just be torture.

I'd rather be alone...If I could have some books and music, that would be great too. I've spent a lot of time by myself and am really good at living in my own, happy little world.

Depends on why I dislike them. If it's stupid things, then with them. If they are murderers, then alone.

Or cannibals.

Silly: What you say makes a lot of sense...and you seem to be a particularly tolerant person :-) I think I need a story about why monkeys hate you!!! One for 4 Disliked People.

Secret: Thank you very much :-) I might like reluctant choices most of all! Two for 4 Disliked People.

Tara: Also good thinking! You are spunky and independent! One for Alone.

BB: You do seem like a very social person. You'd win anyone over, too :-) Three for 4 Disliked People.

Churlita: I have to say that for me, having nothing to read would be among the most unbearable things. Better have some books and tunes :-) Two for Alone.

NoRegrets: I think we can rule out murderers or cannibals. They are just not people you like. At all. So we'll say Four for 4 Disliked People.

Everyone: This is great! I loved your answers on this one. Somehow felt like a telling one...although I couldn't be sure what it is telling. We have Four people who would go with Four people they really disliked and Two who'd prefer, in that case, to be alone. Anyone else want to weigh in? Please feel free.

My answer would depend on whether I had enough food for the year. If I didn't, then four people I disliked would certainly make up for that. Otherwise, I think I would just rather be alone. I do hope I get a notebook and pen to keep me company.

To clarify, I want to be ALONE.

Even if I dislike them, do they like me? Cause that would totally change my answer.

Assuming they don't like me either, I'd go with alone.

But I'd much rather hang out with all the other aloners here. :)

AlienCG: bwahahaha! What a great answer :-) Okay...Three for Alone.

3GK: Wow...another great answer. Yeah, let's say no one like anyone...or something like that. Four for Alone.

And that evens up the score: 4-4!

And I agree with 3GK...it would be cool for the Alone contingency to get together :-)
