Come Save Me From the Awful Sound of Nothing

Welcome to a nice QUIET Saturday Scavenger Shot post.  Actually, I am not expecting today to be particularly QUIET..  I will be attending a birthday party for Love Bug and Little Prince in a few hours.  She turned 4 on the 10th and he'll be 3 on the 29th.  My babies are not quite babies anymore!  *QUIET sobs*

But I'm not here to cry about my babies growing up!  No, no...I am here to just show you something QUIET.
I work in an environment that many people reasonably consider to be a QUIET place.  And at certain hours of the day it is.  This picture of the Children's Services Desk was taken before the library opened in the morning and it was very QUIET.  But if you want QUIET, don't come around here anytime between 3 and 6pm during the school year.  Or virtually any hour during the month of July.  Kids be loud and we be where they be and it be kinda loud sometimes.  We try to maintain a bit of QUIET, but being a shushing librarian is just not the current model :-)

It has been pretty QUIET for me at home this week.  Handsome Lad has been off all week in Mammoth at Cross Country Training Camp.  So, he's running and also, apparently, starring as Dan the Eggplant Man - Half Eggplant, Half Man, All Dan.  I bet it is not QUIET there :-D  This tickles me quite a bit, by the way.

This concludes my Saturday Scavenger Shots post.  I hope that the rest of your weekend is just as QUIET at you want it to be....or just as loud!

Ha! Great quiet post! I love "Dan the Eggplant Man"! That is too cute.
Happy birthday to your Love Bug and Little Prince. I hope you all have a not-so-quiet grand time celebrating!

Okay first of all I love the tagline for Dan the Eggplant Man...The whole idea is beyond awesome! Plus, I like that he's in cross country training camp. Adding "camp" to that combination makes running cross country sound fun instead of exhausting.

Don't be too upset about the little ones growing up too fast. According to my mom, I'll always be her baby and proves that by telling me to call her as soon as I get home at night. :)

As much as I like peace and quiet, my house seems to be at its happiest when its noisy - my older son making music, my younger son tromping around with his buddies. For that matter, some of my favorite times with the kids not here aren't perfectly silent, either!

Silly: He had a great time at camp and the b-day party was a big success! Thanks :-)

Tara: Apparently young Handsome Lad became a star at camp. And they did make it fun for the kids, even with all the running in high altitudes!
I try to remember that the kids and grands will always be my babies at heart, just as we are our moms' babies still.

Secret: I have found that to be true as well. I like my "me" time, but too much makes me sad. I like the noise and confusion other people bring with them.

By the way, the word for next week will be "fun"! :)

Sometimes quiet is good and sometimes it's almost too quiet. I hope all your quiet is the good kind.

Churlita: My quiet nearly always begins good and ends bad, in the event that it goes on for too long.
