Tuesday News Day

Some office toadstools that must have sprung up during the last rain...

Here's all the news that's fit to print.
  • Yesterday WTG lost his job.  It didn't wander off or anything...he was fired.  I haven't heard anything about it from him, but it has been filtered to me through the family.  I hope for his sake he has something else on the back burner.  As we all know, it is a terrible time to be out of work.
  • This morning, I was rudely awakened at 4 am by a couple of nice big jolts.  I just laid there and then I heard Girlie Girl asking me if I felt that.  I went to her room to talk with her and make sure there wasn't more to come.  I heard my phone start pinging with Facebook messages...it kind of made me laugh.  It was just a little 4.4....not the big one just yet :-)
  • Seems like everyone is mildly sick.  Just irritated...stuffy noses and such.  Not me though.  Yet.  Think healthy thoughts for me, please.
  • Milly gave me a bottle of Guinness draught, to properly celebrate St. Patrick's Day tomorrow.  I guess I will have to get her some corned beef and cabbage or something...or maybe just more Guinness.  I love St. Patrick's Day!
I hope all of your news is good news.  Come on, tell me something good!

So correct you are, this is not a good time to be out of work, especially in California from what I hear.

How rude of those fault lines to wake you up at 4am. Who do they think they are.

I've been feeling pretty good for a while now. No illness here, but I will send good healthy vibes your way.

I have enough corned beef to last me a while. I bought two briskets two weeks in a row. Enjoy the Guinness, I'll drink iced tea.

Not a good time to be out of work anywhere in this country as far as I can tell, so I'm sorry to hear that.

An earthquake huh?! I've been in one of those CA things and it's got to be one of the weirdest things. Glad you made it out!

Yikes... out of work now. Best wishes there!

I am a big fan of both Guinness and St. P's! Cheers!

I kind of miss earthquakes... is that weird? Ha.

Stay well my friend.

Well that was dramatic for you guys to have a bit of a quake!

I'm sorry to hear about WTG, I hope he gets back on his feet soon.

Things kind of fell apart for me last night and my family this morning, was it a full moon? Washer problems, sink problems and computer problems. And then this morning my mom called to tell me my cousin is in hospice care. Not good.

I love those mushrooms...
I'm kinda excited and kinda scared to be in the land of earthquakes...
I'm very very tired.
But picking up girl scout cookies this weekend!

Hope WTG has another iron in the fire! I've only ever felt one earthquake and it was so mild I didn't even know what it was until I listened to the news after I got up. Guess there are no fault lines near here, thank goodness. Glad it wasn't serious for you either. I don't like Guinness very much but I'll drink to St Patrick's Day with you.

AlienCG: I'm glad it is only marginally my problem.
Yes, can you please come take care of these pesky faults for me?
And while you're here we'll have our Guinness and tea!

Secret: That's the truth. Thanks :-)

KenV: I've lived here all my life and it is still very weird. I'm glad it was smaller than it felt.

Ananda: Maybe someday we'll have a Guinness together... Hopefully NOT during an earthquake :-)
Thanks for the good health wishes.

Tara: The quake was dramatic, but the news reports afterward were ridiculous...we're talking to Rosa Gonzalez who was awakened by the quake! Geez.
I'm sorry to hear that all that has decended upon your family at once. It is especially sad to hear about your cousin. I'm so sorry,

NoRegrets: Welcome to the land of earthquakes and phony fakes! Go Cali!
Girl Scout cookies are the best...almost as good as the verification word!

FW: I hope so too, but I'm a little doubtful.
Earthquakes are so unpredictable and, at best, startling. At worst, well... I could do without them.
Let's drink up then, FW! Cheers!
