Looks Like Someone's Got a Case of the Mondays

Well, back on task again after a rather lovely, quiet weekend. There is something almost soothing about being so broke that you really cannot do much of anything. There is enough food in the house to get through until the end of the week, as long as Girlie Girl can keep being unpicky and just eat what’s here. I didn’t even want to drive much as I am being careful of gas. So I stayed in and read, talked on the phone, listened to music, and watched tv. Of course there were the obligatory trips to get Girlie Girl and Handsome Lad where they needed to go, but aside from that I was very hermit-like. It was probably a favor to humans in the world that I seclude myself for a while. I am feeling awfully moody and broody. Not exactly depressed, just a mild feeling of triste. Anyone reading my posts regularly could probably plot some sort of chart on my moods. Maybe I should start doing that actually… I doubt there is much mystery to it and is all about hormones/body chemistry. And just being aware of that helps me wait for the lighter mood that will surely come along.

I like when I get to have weekends like that. This weekend wasn't one of those for me.

That sounds like a fab weekend.
Just incase you wanted to be wicked I just want to let you know that I already know that Whitney, the plus side model wins Cycle 10 on ANTM although we are only into week 3 or 4.
I read an entire book on Sunday afternoon and didn't feel at all guilty!
As for moods, be sure you always call on us to help bring a smile to your face.

I like having those hermit like weekends where laying around and chillaxin are the only things you need..I would love to have a whole weekend of nothing happening.. but that is not going to happen anytime soon..

as for your moods.. I think we all can say we have been there.. keep your chin up and call on us anytime for a good old fashion cheer-up..

It's the light change, I swear.

When I worked in ob/gyn, we had women make PMS charts to track things. It helped them to know that it was just hormones and they weren't going crazy.

I hear you on being broke. It sucks, but sometimes it's a good excuse not to have to go out and be social.

Playing hermit can be very nice - reading and chilling out sounds so nice.

I was moody too today - two moods, actually - I was in a cleaning phase, so I cleaned my kitchen (wiping off ledges and cleaning under appliances type of cleaning) and vacuumed my floor. And then I switched from that to a bit cranky and now I'm fine.

I think I actually saw a Web 2.0 App that did something like that: You'd rate your mood at different points of the day, and look at the ratings over time. The app would create a chart for you. It seems like a great idea. Sometimes on Twitter I'll do that...I'll just go, "On a scale from one to ten, my mood is a ___." ...first number that pops into my head.

I think the change of seasons has got me lately. It's not quite as pronounced here in Florida (which might be the problem.)

I have recently found myself yearning for a week off just to do nothing. It would be so brilliant! Hope things are brighter soon for you.

AlienCG: There is something to be said for quiet times.

Daffy: Oooohhh! How can I use this knowlege to my advantage...
You guys definitely bring a smile to my face and a little song to my heart :-)

Mrs: I confess I didn't have many weekends like that when my children were small. It is a more recent luxury.
Believe me, I do count on you guys!

Cricket: I so believe the light change theory!
hee hee! Reasonable volume.

Churlita: I should totally start a mood chart. I bet it would make perfect sense.
I often welcome an excuse to be unsocial...perhaps a little too much.

Tara: I need to get in a cleaning mood. That one hits too rarely :-) I have cranky covered though. I'm glad you got fine. I'm not so bad now either.

Bobby: That sounds like just what I need. As I said, I'm pretty sure it would all make sense on a graph.
So, do you miss more changeable seasons? I've lived her all my life and can't imagine living through "real" winters.

FW: Yeah, the problem with vacations is that they are packed full of all the stuff you can't get done while working. Genuine downtime is sometimes hard to come by. Like me, you will probably have more of it when your children get older.
I do feel better already :-)
