We All Scream for Ice Cream

July has arrived and with it a whole new Eclectic Calendar full of very special days to celebrate. In case you weren't aware of it, today is Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day. Now, if you know me at all, you know I love me some ice cream. It is far and away my favorite dessert treat. However, when it comes to getting creative with ice cream flavors, it seems like something always goes terribly wrong. I keep thinking of monstrosities such as Turkey Gravy ice cream...but maybe I am just getting the whole thing confused with those crazy Jones soda flavors. Maybe Creative Ice Cream Flavor Day could be used to celebrate, say, triple chocolate mint with dark chocolate chunks covered in chocolate sauce. Is that creative? Or just the product of a rather sadly fixated mind. Tell me all about your Creative Ice Cream flavor, won't you?

Fudge, caramel, pecans all together in vanilla ice cream. It's not creative, it's turtle ice cream. I can't think of any creative flavors unless we start in on the Jones Soda flavors.

Some times you feel like a nut - Coconut ice cream with dark chocolate swirls and almonds.

I like chocolate. I have tried chocolate/jalapeƱo ice cream and it was really insanely good. The chocolate was made almost stronger by the heat of the peppers.

Vanilla ice cream with chunks of pickle inside.

No, I'm not pregnant, but I like pickles and I like ice cream. Just never tried them together. :)

Thank you, Ms. Laura B., for linking to mah calendar and honoring the holiday. Not a hard holiday to celebrate. :)

AlienCG: Creative or not, it is a delicious choice. Much better than, say, carrots n' peas ice cream...

MiniJonB: Almond Joy ice cream! Very nice :-)

Evil-E: And see? I would be put off by the sound of that and might not even try it! I need to be more adventurous.

Tara: Well, extra points for creativity, thats for sure! You should try it and let us know :-)
haha! You're right, this was a very easy holiday to celebrate :-)

I worked at an ice cream place for 9 years and we had some funky flavors. Coffee toffee fudge, chocolate blackberry, and chocolate a la orange were just a few of them.

I once had burnt sugar ice cream. It was wonderful! Like a marshmallow from the fire...

Churlita: Oooh, chocolate a la orange sounds amazing. If I worked in an ice cream place we would probably all be sorry...

NoRegrets: Ooooh, to that one too! Thats sounds really good.
