Trouble Right Here in River City

There seems to be some bad juju in the air around me. On the home front the WTG is losing what's left of his mind. I am once again thinking that I am going to have to take the big step and make a move. This is the one life that I've been given now and I really don't want to waste it walking on egg shells. On the work front the sort of #2 person in my department also seems to be falling apart. She's been willing to take on less work instead of more over the two or so years that she's been here. She acts pissed off most of the time with the patrons and seems to begrudge the services that we perform for them. She doesn't want to to commit to any long term projects, because she says she "gets bored" and "needs new things to do". Uh hello, how about doing what is in your job description? I don't think it is OUR job to make sure she is entertained, plus I was always told that boredom is the curse of the dull minded...or something like that. The Principal Librarian in the department knows she needs to deal with her, but I know she is almost as non-confrontational as I am. She, however, doesn't have that luxury, being the Boss and all.
So, this week is starting off rough, but I am ready to kick some ass and take some names, you know?

I got the news that not just one, but three people that work in close proximity will be leaving within the next 2-3 weeks. That leaves me with one person in my quad and 2 people out of four in the next quad....ACK!!!

Keep tabs, I like hearing about asses and the people that kick them.

It seems like the bad Juju is a nationwide thing. I myself have been a bit of a crab (my sign) and it seems most people I know are flaking out in general. Something about the end of winter I guess.

We had someone working for us like that. She wasn't exactly pissed off at everyone, but she loved to argue and confront about things that shouldn't be changed, and went on random crusades to have things done only her way. She would yell at my manager during our meetings, and he wasn't into confronting, so his ego started getting the best of him. As if meetings weren't bad enough, I felt like my parents were bickering on either side of me.

Eventually the lady was let go due to cutbacks. While I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, it is more peaceful without her.

AlienCG: Watch for it! It will be like a public execution :-)

Rachel: Wow, that is really short-handed. More work for the survivors, but somehow not more money. *sigh*

Evil-E: In spite of the bad juju, I have faith that you will get your mojo back. I will kick some asses in the name of Evil.

BabyBull: Thanks! I am fully intending to go! Heads gonna roll...

Tara: I think I know that lady! Sounds quite a bit like my situation, right down to the bickering parent scenario. No cutbacks are anticipated, but I am keeping my fingers crossed for some sort of rampage that will shut her down.
