I Haven't Seen the Worst of It Yet

Saturday Scavenger Shots are here...and it looks like I chose a good word for today! WATER. At least up here in these parts, it be wet.  Come see the WATER...

Took this a few minutes ago when it looked like there would soon be WATER falling from the sky. As I post here, it is actually raining. It's very light so far. Maybe not too much WATER up there....

Here's a little blast from the past for you kids. Guess who has two shriveled thumbs and still does dishes in a sink full of soapy WATER? This broad! Um, me. I do. I've never owned a dishwasher. I feel both sorrow and a weird misplaced pride in this fact.

I was going to post a photo of the WATER bottles I store in my fridge. I feel self-conscious though. I know WATER bottles are the scourge of the environment and I should be using a refillable bottle. I'm making a feeble attempt, though, to stay hydrated healthily and this works so well for me. But I promise to clean up my act soon.

That's all the WATER I am prepared to show you for today. I hope you're all have a beautiful weekend doing the things you want to be doing. Thanks for stopping in....don't get too wet on the way out!

Aaannndddd...Tara? Over to you.

Ha, I feel like we're newscasters! "Over to Tara for Sports!" I love it!

That's a great photo you took of storm clouds! Sometimes it'll get all cloudy and menacing over here in the summer, but then the rain passes right by us.

The house I grew up in didn't have an automatic dishwasher, but we kids were there to wash the dishes! Now that I have a dishwasher, it's really nice and convenient; especially during holidays.

I don't mind doing dishes, but I generally use the dishwasher for speeds' sake. When I used to go on Buddhist retreats, I always signed up for dishwashing duty, though - there was something about standing there silently with another person washing dishes together that I really liked.

I love the picture of the storm clouds and the way what light there is shines through the rain.

There is something soothing about doing the dishes by hand. I can appreciate both methods.

We reuse our water bottles. We are careful to pick out the right kind of plastic, though we have two stainless steel ones too. I figure that as long as I refill them and keep using them, they are not filling up the landfills. When we need to replace them, they go into our recycle and are reused there too. But they have to have developed an issue for us to get rid of them. Though I must say that I like the taste of water out of the stainless steel best. And it gets so very cold! Hydration is important.

Love the clouds.. always a chance of rain when those appear..
I was the "dishwsher" growing up.. I use to escape to the bathroom so I wouldn't have to do them.. But now I find that since that didn't work out to well.. I just do them and get it over with..lol..
We do have a dishwwasher to use for big dinners..

We have a Brita filtered jug.. works well.. we do buy bottled water in the summer..Always handy to have around..

My parents never had a dishwasher either, so I grew up doing dishes by hand. Its a pain, but honestly, I think dishes are cleaner that way.

It's only been in the last six months that I've had a dishwasher and I'm 43, so I think I earned it after washing up all those years. Lovely photos as always!

Tara: We're so pro :)
haha! It's funny, even with so many kids around I most often ended up doing the dishes. Probably because it is a bit of a zen chore.

Secret: Yes! I totally get that.

Silly: I am just going to have to not be so lazy, get myself some nice reusable bottles and remember to put water in them!

Mrs: Yeah, day to day handwashing is okay...but sometimes for big events it would be nice to have that dishwasher.
A Brita jug, eh? Maybe I will have to give that a try.

Silver: Quite possibly so. And for me, kind of consoling to think so!

FW: You surely have! And thank you :)

I hate to do dishes, but I love to cook. Thank the goddess that my guy likes to do dishes and doesn't like to cook. Of course, I've never really had a dishwasher that wasn't me or a roommate either.

Churlita: It is very nice how these things work out!
I feel very happy to clean up when DR cooks.
