Spit Shine

Yeah, I am so dull lately, I need some sort of polish.  I'm not complaining.  Things have been quiet lately and I don't really mind that.  Doesn't make for very interesting blogging though.   Like, this weekend for example.  I really did nothing.  It was drizzly and grey and I pretty much hibernated.  Here is some stuff I have to relate -

-Handsome Lad has been spending a lot of time with me.  It is very nice, I love having him with me.  And I am happy that right now WTG seems to have needed a break and is not being weird or mean about it.

-I think we are nearing the halfway point (if we are saying a year) of being apart from DR.  We talk quite a lot, but sometimes the things I want to say don't get said.  Or I say them, sort of, and it goes over like a lead balloon.  So, I don't know.  The love is there, though and that helps.

-I went out to dinner Saturday night with Kick Back Dude, Princess Diva, and the kids.  I'm not entirely sure what is going on with them, but I am hoping they are trying to work things out between them.

-Looks like I am going to have to be the one to put together a birthday dinner for WTG.  Don't exactly feel like it is my place.  Usually it is something KBD and PD might do, but not this year...and his mom is a wreck.  I don't want him to not have a family celebration on his special day, so there you go.  I'm so nice :-)

-Getting ready for my big Trick or Treat at the Library program next week.  I've done it for the past few years and it is always very popular and great fun.  I'm not sure how I will dress up this year...

-We got this cute book in recently:
It is called Ninja Cowboy Bear Presents The Way of the Ninja.  Pure genius.
In spite of their differences, they are best friends...and the drawings are sooo cute.

Hope you're all ready for another week of rich, creamy goodness.  And I hope my dull missive didn't bore you too much...or maybe bored you just the right amount :-)  TTFN!

WTG is the ex? If I know my ex isn't getting a birthday cake from anyone else, i always bake one for him. I can't help it - I think everyone's birthday needs to be marked.

That is wonderful of you to do the birthday thing for WTG. I agree, no one should go without a birthday celebration.

I went through that too and I often got distracted or words didn't fit. Maybe wrong timing. I'm glad the love it there. Yay that you're half way there!

What a cool book! And, well, maybe you could be a lead balloon for halloween? Hmm... maybe the kids wouldn't get it...

The halfway point already? Very cool. Now you can really start a countdown. Like you said, it is good that the love is there. In the end, that is all that matters.

I love the title of that book. The drawings look cool too!

Secret: Yes, the ex. We have had many, many issues, but still...I wouldn't let his birthday go uncelebrated.

Ananda: Thanks, I know you can relate to the guardedly friendly ex relationship. And also, you can relate to distance trials. I'm feeling the burn.

NoRegrets: ha! Yeah, that might flummox them. Maybe just a regular balloon!

MrManuel: Well, I am jumping the gun a bit...not quite half way, but nearly! I am trying to push things along :-) And you're right, the love is what matters.

Tara: Isn't it cute! Three of my favorite things all together :-)

You are a much better ex than I am. I stay as far away from my ex as i can get. It has made my life so much easier.

You and your guy are at the halfway point? That's great! I hope he comes back and you are able to work it all out.

Churlita: I don't know if I'm a better ex. I just have a high tolerance for BS and a low tolerance for uncelebrated celebrations :-)
Almost halfway...I am anticipating. I hope so too, thank you.
