Past / Future. Just Not Now.

Choose and Defend Wednesday is upon us.  Care to join me in the carefree world of Saturday morning cartoons?  I know I could use a break from adulthood.   Here are a couple of wacky, but loveable cartoon families.   One is from the past, the other is from the future, they both are from Hanna-Barbera!  Which one do you prefer?  And why?

Flintstones
OR

Jetsons

Hope you are having a Yabba Dabba Doo time...and remember Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah (Means I Love You).

I choose The Flintstones. I can totally relate to a rack of ribs tipping my family's car over.

Both theme songs are hard to get out of my head, though.

They're basically the same show set in different times. I'm going to go with Jetsons, though, just for the retro/futurism of it all.

Ha! I make a Jetsons car sound whenever I pass a tiny car.

I never really watched either but since it's Choose & Defend, I'll go Jetsons...just because.

It has to be The Flintstones for me. I loved watching them when I was a kid. Jetsons were good too but not quite as endearing.

Flintstones! Um, because they had more challenges to face?Yeah well, that's crap, but I don't have a great reason.

"Flintstones". There were actually a bunch of great episodes, compared to Jetsons. Jetsons had its moments, but Flintstones edged it out. Easy to see why: which patriarch is one of the great cartoon characters of all time? Fred, not George. Can anyone recall George's catch phrase?

And now I have the Bad Company song "Here come the Jetsons" in my head...

Here come the Jetsons, one two three...

The Flintstones was a much better cartoon than the Jetsons if only for Barney Rubble's laugh. My vote is for THE FLINTSTONES.

Sorry I haven't been around much, I've been very busy.

Tara: haha! Do you make your car go with your feet? Sometimes I do! :-) One for Flintstones.

Secret: You're right. Jetsons was specifically created to be the Flintstones futuristic counterpart. One for Jetsons.

3GK: haha! Ttthhhhhh! I don't know how else to represent that sound :-) And that is a good enough reason! Two for Jetsons.

FW: I watched them too... I know there were certainly more episodes of the Flintstones. Two for Flintstones.

NoRegrets: There you go, thinking on your feet! I like that :-) Three for Flintstones.

Dmarks: Yeah, when I was doing this post I couldn't think of a quintessential catch phrase for the Jetsons! My favorite thing about that show was probably Rosie.

Bwahahaha! I love that song!
Four for Flintstones.

AlienCG: Aw, I instantly heard Barney's laugh when I read that! And it is wonderful to see you here. Five for Flintstones.

Everyone: The Flintstones have taken a commanding lead over the Jetsons with a score of 5-2. Anyone who hasn't yet participated, please dabba do!!!!

Remember the Barneycopter?

I'm going with the jetsons because of Rosie the robot. They are both basically rip-offs of the Honeymooners too, aren't they? I guess the Flintstones more than the Jetsons.

Dmarks: Oh, you mean the Flintstone Flyer? haha! I remember :-)

Churlita: Yeah, Rosie! She can come live with me anytime. And I do think that the Flintstones especially was very Honeymooner-esque. Three for Jetsons.

Makes it 5-3 now!
