I Write the Songs

In honor of today's Taraday, which is Write a Song Day (Lyrics and/or Music), I decided to share with you some lovely lyrics inspired by people with whom I work. In case you can't sense the humor, I was goofing around and wrote this song about two very...shall we say, lackadaisical employees here at the library. Feel free to image whatever tune you like to go along with the lyrics. Enjoy! ha!

The Ballad of the D’s

Sitting D and Slow D
Take life just as you like
Don’t rush for me or anyone
You know it isn’t worth it

Sitting D and Slow D
You live life in a daze
Don’t rise for me or anyone
It’s not worth it in the end

Sometimes this life just moves so fast
But not for our two friends
They take life at their own speed
No rush to get to the end

Sitting D and Slow D
Alike yet different still
Don’t change for me or anyone
You know it isn’t worth it

Sitting D and Slow D
Enthralled with lazy chat
Don’t fight for me or anyone
It’s not worth it in the end

Sometimes life just moves so fast
But not for our two friends
They take like at their own speed
No rush to get to the end…..

There is at least one of these at every work. Hell, there is one at my work and I am the only one here. Wait, what?

I make up songs about people all the time. Sometimes they're just funny, and not so pointed, so I sing them to the people. Sometimes they aren't and I can't.

What a good song. I have worked with people who fit into these lyrics. Good job.

Evil-E: Ha! Well a couple of my coworkers know about this...but not the subjects ;-)

Tara: I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're right! The D's are definitely a work species known as Lazyassium Nerveworkius.

MrManuel: You don't need anyone to burn you...you do it all on your own! Good man :-)

Churlita: Songs and little bits of doggeral are useful, safe ways to dissipate slightly negative feelings. Or positive ones, I suppose, although oddly that doesn't seem to happen as much....

Mrs.: hee hee! A sweet ballad for a couple of coworkers...nothing wrong with that, eh?

AlienCG: I'm so glad you appreciate my mad songwriting skillz. If you wrote music we could go into business together!
