News in Brief

All the big fights seem to happen on Mondays. Apparently WTG and Handsome Lad had some sort of argument today with Handsome Lad threatening to come live with me. And I really only heard about this because my sister called and told me that Handsome Lad is at her house and can I come get him on my way home from work. Um, yeah, but what the hell is going on? I don't even want to deal with it while I am working, but since I am almost off I will be dealing with it soon no matter what.

Of course, Handsome Lad can come live with me. I sort of suspected this might happen. HOWEVER, we can't have him manipulating people with threats about where he is going to live. I would rather have him with me, but I just want to make sure it is what he really wants...not just a way to piss off his dad. Ugh. I'll let you know what happens.

Boy, that's a tough one. My oldest has tried to pull that both ways at different times when she didn't think she was getting what she wanted. Once I realized that's what she was doing, I called her dad and we agreed that she would stick to the normal schedule.

There have been other times when their dad was being a big, dumb jerk, and I've had to go over and take the girls to my house until he could behave himself enough to deserve the company of his daughters. If you haven't already, you may want to check with his brothers if they were there for the drama to get their take on it.

just tell H. Lad that, yes, he's very smart to think he can pull it off that way, but, no, it won't work. nice try. bluff called.

the old divide and conquer technique...

The wisdom of Solomon will have to be in play on this one I suppose.

I hope things work out in the best fairest way possible.

Yikes, WTG strikes again with his oh so wonderful personality. You're right, though, your son should want to move out instead of do it out of spite.

Churlita: It is tough, because what I want is for him to come live with me...but only if we can work it out reasonably and with no threats going back and forth. I am trying to talk calmly with his dad, but so far that is sort of a dead end. We'll see.

MiniJonB: I know that would be the high road for me to take. But I really have never been convinced that him living with his dad is the best thing for him. But you're right, he is being manipulative in this case.

Evil-E: Wisdom of Solomon, eh? Sometimes my selflessness feels stretched already, but I will try...

AlienCG: I hope so too. I guess it is just a matter of deciding exactly what is going to constitute fair here.

Tara: I should have known that peace I was feeling would be short lived. I hope we can work this out without too much ill will.

NoRegrets: Thank you, I'm going to need it.

Harsh.

I've got a 12 year old boy who'd probably like to come live with you, too.

:-)

Good luck.
