It Puts the Lotion in the Basket

You know what movie has an almost endless number of awesome lines? Well there are a few of them, but today I thought I would bring up The Silence of the Lambs.
I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with it or anything, but every few months Milly and I get the idea that we need to see it again. We can watch it over two lunch breaks at work. We know it by heart and can pretty much talk right along with the dialog.

There are, of course, favorite scenes that we look forward to. Like most people who have seen the film, we love the scene where Jame Gumb does his little dance to that Q Lazzaras song Good-bye Horses...and tuck...and yes!You are beautiful! hee hee!

I don't know what it is about this movie, exactly. I'm not even sure that I would say it is my favorite movie if it came down to it. That would be a hard choice! Also, Manhunter and Red Dragon were just okay. I didn't care for Hannibal all that much. I never even saw Hannibal Rising. But for some reason, baddies Dr. Lector and Buffalo Bill and the righteous Clarice Starling make me want to watch their drama again and again.

Do you have a movie like that in regular rotation? Something that you just can't help watching every so often? Tell me about it!

"Put the f**king lotion in the basket!!" Hehe. That is a very quotable movie. To this day, "Goodbye Horses" and Tom Petty's "American Girl" give me the creeps because of that movie. The guy who plays Jame Gumb was afraid he'd start to get stereotyped after that movie (can't imagine why), so he started auditioning for detective roles. I think he's still on "Monk" now as Monk's boss.

I recommend watching "Hannibal Rising". It was a very underrated movie. You get to see Hannibal as a kid and find out why he went nuts.

I own this movie and have watched it quite a few times. I know it very well. Hannibal the book was insanely good, the movie left out some key information.

Star Wars is always in the regular rotation. I am now on 190 times and counting.

Star Wars (1-6) of course. Airplane and Airplane 2: The Sequel.

"I just want to wish you both, good luck, we're all counting on you."

Shoot, I am such a movie whore there are tons of movies in my regular rotation. You know what we probably watch the most when we are bored - The Dawn of the Dead remake. We see that all the time.

Now when I watch Silence of the lambs and the tuck scene, I just laugh because it makes me think of the homage to it in Clerks 2.

Tara: Ted Levin's portrayal was called 'courageous' by director Jonathan Demme in his Oscar speech.
I will watch for Hannibal Rising to show up on cable.
I love Scary Movie(s) and Moonstruck too!

Evil-E: I really enjoyed the book more too...movies always leave out things that seem pretty essential.
190 viewings of Star Wars? That is amazing!

AlienCG: I can picture you and Evil, bored, deciding to watch Episode 3 yet again :-)
I loooove the Airplane movies.

MrManuel: You and your horror films :-)
The tuck scene makes me laugh too, even from before the Clerks 2 homage, which is awesome.
