Are you one of those people who imagines that you can control the state of your body with sheer mindpower? I am. I always truly in my heart believe that I can will myself to stay well, even when people are dropping around me like flies. Starting last Tuesday family members began..oh, lets just say...vomiting. Not everyone all at once. It crept up on us. First the baby, poor little Miss Personality. By the time she was recovering her mama was sick. Then by Thursday night, Handsome Lad was down hard, it was ugly. Kick Back Dude got it too, but was able to slough it off after a good night's sleep, sort of. By Friday evening, when they were on the upswing, Girlie Girl was aching and feverish. During all of this I was making pacts with any force that cared to listen.
I CANNOT BE SICK!
I WILL NOT BE SICK!
IF I SERVE EVERYONE SELFLESSLY, I WILL STAY HEALTHY!
PLEASE?!?!?!?
That should work, right? It didn't. I spent Saturday night dead sick. Passing out on the cool, cool bathroom floor sick. Without the fun of being drunk before...
Luckily, I was able to get lots of rest on Sunday. I put everyone on notice and took to my bed, getting up only to run a load of laundry or two, and help the kids keep it together mealwise.
By the time I got up this morning, I was tickety boo.
In conclusion, even though it didn't work out this time, I am pretty sure that next time I can keep from getting sick like everyone else. Don't ask me how. If I told you my method I would have to kill you. bwahahahaha!!!!

It happens to even the best of us (or in my case, the worst of us). I always "refuse" to get sick, and somehow, the disease seems to find me. Glad to hear things are returning to normal and that you scraped your non-drunk self up off the bathroom floor.
Evil-E: I guess bad things do happen to both the good and the evil among us ;-)
The bathroom floor is a chill place to visit, but...
I can't recall the last time I was face down on the bathroom floor.. actually our bathroom is so tiny I think my feet would dangle over the stairs...glad you are back feeling "tickety boo".. Being sick is no fun..so don't believe anyone who says otherwise...:)
When I read the title I though you meant the alcoholic beverage.
Quite apropos l.b.
At least you and your family had an organized sick time. Kind of like a domino effect, right? I hope you're all feeling better now, though!
My brother's family gets sick in an organized fashion. And a few times, they've shared the love with me, and I've gotten sick just by being around them.
BabyBull: Good thing for you not to remember...I definitely don't recommend it :-)
Rachel: haha! I hadn't thought of that, but it works!
Tara: It tends to run that way, knocking us down one or two at a time. Someone has to be well enough to run fetch liquids and more blankets!
Aren't families great like that :-)
Let me guess, you're going to move into a hotel at the first sign of illness. Glad you're feeling better now.
Being sick is the pits, glad your feeling better.
AlienCG: That was not my evil plan, but what a great idea! Thanks!
FW: It was brutal, but brief. Thank you :-)
