Ring, Ring Goes the Bell

Today was the day my two youngest returned to school.  I have mixed feelings.  It is nice for them to have the structure in their days that school gives them.  And there are a lot of fun and interesting things that go on during the school year.  But we are also so much busier...and mornings are way more tiring, just the getting going part.

Still here we are again.  One of my personal favorite things are first day of school pictures.

Ready to take on the world!
Bonus, since it is Tuesday, how about a little Talk Talk?

Up in the mornin' and out to school
The teacher is teachin' the Golden Rule
American history and practical math
You studyin' hard and hopin' to pass
Workin' your fingers right down to the bone
And the guy behind you won't leave you alone
-Chuck Berry "School Days"

Do you have an especially memorable first day of school story to share?  Could be about yourself, your kids, or something you dreamed about :-)   Does the phrase "Back to School", even as an adult, make you feel a little anticipatory?  Full of dread?  Nothing...in par-ti-cu-lah?  Talk Talk!

I always think of the day I took my older son to his first day of kindergarten. He was fine and I cried like a baby!

Your kids are so cool, I love how they're so psyched on their first day of school!...Didn't mean to rhyme there, but do with it what you will. :)

First day of school when I was a student was more exciting than nervous for me. I remember loving the fact that I had brand new school supplies, brand new clothes and kind of fresh start. Everything smelled new.

After I was done with school, I missed the "back to school" hype at first. Now I don't. I just know that the end of Summer is near.

Secret: Aw! I should probably post the very embarrassing story about the way I behaved on my oldest son's first day of pre-school.

Tara: The thought of edumacation just makes you wanna bust out a scholarly rhyme!
I was like you...excited and ready to start fresh :-)

You have awesome kids! I never really enoyed school all that much, so dread describes it better for me. on't you find though that Back To School merchandising seems to start earlier each year? They'll soon be marketing Back To School even before the holidays!

I honestly can't remember any particular first day of school stories! hmm... must have been traumatic.

FW: Thanks! And I agree, marketing for back to school and everything begins earlier and earlier.

NoRegrets: haha! Not a fan? The mind is kind like that :-)
