A Man Must Have a Shed to Keep Him Sane

Thought I'd go all in with another sort of festive post for this week's Choose and Defend Wednesday. I was thinking about the many things about Christmas that leave me with mixed feelings. Some of the pomp seems to be just so much filler...yet it also has that callback, traditional element that is hard to dismiss.  When I thought of "filler" and "tradition" what immediately came to mind, for some reason, are those traditional fillers that tend to go in the Xmas stocking. Follow that line of logic! Um, anyway...What is your favorite traditional stocking filler?

Fruit
OR

Nuts
All that's left to do is Choose and Defend. I will leave you to it :) Gracias!

Oranges! The toes of our stockings were always filled with oranges! And the house smelled like oranges. They are as much a part of Christmas scents and tastes to me as cinnamon or gingerbread.

I always loved getting nuts in my stocking. With nuts came ritual --counting, sorting, shelling. The perfect stocking stuffer for a future OCD sufferer.

Silly: haha! At least it makes it look like people wanted to participate :) I love how the cutie tangerines get cheaper this time of year! One for Fruit.

James: I love that. And it makes me think of Harlan Pepper in Best in Show naming nuts :-D One for Nuts.

Thanks Silly Rabbit and James for responding, even though I know it is a busy time. You two are my favorites :) 1-1 !

Nuts! Damn! No, nuts really.... They fill up more space since they are smaller so you get more :-)

A tangerine in the toe of the stocking, always. I actually like nuts, too, but in the stockings I prefer chocolates. But the tangerine isn't negotiable.

NoRegrets: Ah, I like the way you think! Nutty :) Two for Nuts.

Secret: Well, chocolates...ALWAYS a winner in my book! But I like the non-negotiable aspect of the tangerine! Two for Fruit.

You two are my favorites too :-D Yay! Yet, we are still tied at 2-2. What's a blogger to do? Call for more votes!!!
