The First Step is Admitting You Need Help

.

Hello. My name is laura b. and I am a cheesy competitive performance reality show addict. Right now I am on American Idol...and if that wasn't bad enough my dealer just got me back into Dancing with the Stars. I know you are probably furrowing your brow and shaking your head now, perhaps muttering, "Oh, laura b. this breaks my heart! You need to get a life!" And you'd be right! I know, I know! There are so many worthwhile things I could be doing with the time I spent strung out on reality shows...not to mention what all of this is no doubt doing to my brain cells. But listen...as much as I can see that this hurts you, I don't feel ready just yet to give it up. Maybe someday when I am stronger. Until then, try not to think of me as only an addict. Think of me first as a human being, however flawed. After all, everyone has an addiction of some sort, don't they? Come on, you can tell me yours. I promise not to judge you (like, oh, Simon or Len!) and you will have my complete discretion. Sing it.

Oy, where did we, as bloggers, go wrong with you Laura B.?

Admittedly, I do have an addiction on Monday nights. I watch...this is hard for me to admit...WWE Raw. Yes, I watch wrestling. I can admit it.

AlienCG: You are a better man for admitting your addiction. Wrestling is a tough one, I've been close to the edge there!
We're here for you, Big Guy.

You like the same stuff Renee does. She is a "reality" addict as well. My show starts in a week in a half or so...baseball season starts.

Laura B., listen to me, I'm one of your friends. I was once a reality show addict. I thought I could steer clear of such shows, but then some dodgy commercial got me hooked on the Sci Fi Channel's show "Mad House" a few years back. I was in denial, but totally hooked now that I realize. Then came "Wife Swap" and a "friend" got me hooked on "American Idol" for one season. But I'm okay now - at least one year sober. Only you can help you. ;)

Evil-E: What sports have in common with the reality shows is that a lot of times it gives you something to talk about with others. Is it really that awful? haha!

Tara: Wow, your story is truly, truly inspiring! It gives me hope that someday I too can be reality show free! But not just yet...

I love Wife Swap. Being in a relationship helped me kick that, but now that I'm single again, I'm not making any promises.

I would rather watch a story or a comedy...maybe because my reality is goofy/stressful/crazed enough?

Churlita: I watch that sometimes too...and Super Nanny as well. It must be the single thing...

Not: haha! I can understand that! You do have more than enough going on in your reality :-)

Oh dear... my first visit and you have me confessing already!
My guilty reality secret is...
ANTM. God knows I am a woman of 35..6..7.. oh alright!38 and my vitaly statistics...well lets just say they are vital. My modelling days are well behind me. (Really, lumped up there holding onto my legs!) So take comfort in the fact that you are not alone. As for American Idol I have a thing for Randy and the way he says 'Dawg!'
Dancing with the stars! I so wanted Mel B to win but this time, I'll be glued to Steve Guttenburg and Prisicalla Presley... they are the only ones I know. Oh and if you are ahead of me on this show please don't tell me Steve has gone! I couldn't bare the pain!
I hope you invite me back for a visit after this comment.... I am normally normal! :o)

daffy: For me, it was just a'ight! Ah, Randy :-)
I wanted Mel B to win last year too. This year, who knows? But Steve Guttenburg is adorable and Priscilla Presley is amazing at 60 or whatever! Tonight is the first elimination and if I had to guess I would say goodbye to Monica the tennis player, and...I'm not sure which guy. Maybe the hot guy from Chile, because no one knows who he is... Please, come back again anytime!
