She didn't know what I thought when I saw the moon on her face, or when my arm touched
hers in the movie, or even when I heard her walk into the drugstore a little while before.
She didn't know she was the only thing I wanted to have that I thought I'd get.
- Neon Bible by John Kennedy Toole
Isn't that sweet? I could use a little sweetness right about now.
I had a great long weekend and the 4th was lots of fun. Here are a couple of photos of the little girls swimming at Grandpa WTGs house -
Miss Personality hates her floaty swim suit, but loves her goggles.
Love Bug swimming in her clothes, because she just couldn't wait.
I also managed to make myself unclear to people at least twice over those three days, which resulted in bad communication and the accompanying angst. I guess my interpersonal skills need work, but I am pretty sure I'm not the only one.
Now, back to the grind and getting over it and getting on with it! Talk Talk. Sweet or sour?

It is sweet, and I, too, am in need of some sweetness.
(Those floaty swimsuits make me giggle when I see them.)
It's all about the goggles! I love that Love Bug just threw caution to the wind and went in with her regular clothes. Stickin' it to The Man already! :)
Bad communication sucks. Wasn't that deep? ;) My family and I go through messed up communication, too. I have yet to meet a family who sees eye-to-eye all of the time.
...or for that matter, listens ear-to-ear all of the time!
Secret: I suspect the floatie swim suit insults her sense of dignity in a way that goggles do not :-)
Tara: haha! Yes, Love Bug the rebel! As for goggles, I like them for about 2 seconds, then I get annoyed :-)
And thanks for that. It is good to know that I'm not alone in my communication snafus. It happens. sigh.
You know, I've never read A Confederacy of Dunces. I've had the book since college, but it is on my list. I dated a guy from Ireland, who became an exchange student in America and went to New Orleans on Spring Break, just because of that book. So, are you saying I should or shouldn't read The Neon Bible?
Churlita: haha! I'd probably steer clear of New Orleans based on that book :-) That daring Irish boy.
You should read Neon Bible. It won't take you long and it has some nice moments.
do you have any other book recommendations?
C4C: Lots! Are you on Goodreads? I am and Ananda is, although I think she collected a few friends and disappeared :-) It is a good way to see what other people are reading and enjoying.
sounds familiar - i think you invited me, but i ignored it and now i don't hear from them. i will look it up. thanks, as always!
