Hey, did you notice it is still Wednesday? Yes, time to Choose and Defend! Today, let us think about comfort. Comfort
food. Food definitely has its associations for people and we all have our comfort foods, right? What comes to mind for you when we talk about comfort food? As always, here are a couple of choices...Choose. Followed, of course, by a vigorous defense.
Is your comfort food more like...
A Traditional Meal
OR
A Snacking Treat
As always, please feel free, once you've chosen, to get as specific as you want. Tell us your most ideal comfort food. Or maybe the one you just go to first. Whatever. Totally up to you...it is YOUR Choose and Defend Wednesday!

With a few exceptions aside, I choose the traditional meal for comfort food. I love the idea of having several side dishes to choose from when I'm eating with family.
After the day I had to deal with the office pill, I went to the store and bought a box of Reece's Peanut Butter cereal. That is one of my exceptions, it was a comforting snack for me.
As boring and sad as it is... tomato soup! Add a grilled cheese no-no sandwich and I'm in heaven.
A traditional meal... mm... I'm hungry.
A traditional meal, but mine would have to be seafood since I don't eat bird or mammal. Much as I love chocolate, it doesn't comfort me the way a solid meal and glass of wine does.
Tara: A woman who likes choices! Good defense...and good exception too. Sweet cereal is a nice treat :-)
One for Meal.
Ananda: Oh, you just listed one of my very favorite food combinations! Two for Meal.
NoRegrets: haha! Me too :-) Three for Meal.
Secret: There are so many different kinds of seafood that it would be hard to miss other meats. Add the wine and, yeah, good comfort! Four for Meal.
Everyone: Not many takers on this one, but we certainly have a clear preference for a full meal of deliciousness when seeking comfort :-)
I would choose a traditional meal over a snack meal as traditional meals ae heavier with more substance to them, meaning they can fill you up better.
What specifically comes to mind is my mother's delicious chicken noodle soup, which she makes every Fall and winter.
One occasion in particular rose to my memory at contemplating this question:

BrightenedBoy: Oh. Em. Gee. That soup looks soooo good. If I knew someone who made soup like that, I might not ever eat anything else.
I love that you guys took what could have been a real waste and made it into a kind of celebration.
And now it is 5-0 for a meal!
I love a humongous meal, settles me right down and makes me quite happy!!!
Sebastien: Look at you, one of the gang! You all love your good, hot meals :-) 6-0!
