I feel like I haven't been a really good blogger lately and I apologize. I think a lot of it has to do with having more anxiety at work for the past few months, since my new weird boss came on board. There has also recently been a lot of upheaval for my family with them losing their house and everyone scrambling to find other accommodations. Anxiety, apparently, is not this blogger's friend when it comes to writing. I am hopeful that things will be better soon. I really enjoy blogging and miss it when I can't get to it or feel unable to put my thoughts together.
Now...on to a simple Choose and Defend Wednesday. I thought since it is the day before Thanksgiving I would go with a food choice. We all like food, right? So here you go...Choose and Defend! Do you prefer -
Potatoes
OR
Sweet Potatoes
As usual lately, not exactly a deep thinker...but still, I'd love to read your answers and the rousing defense of your choice!!! Choose and Defend strikes again!
If I don't see you before....Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends and Happy Thursday to you other fine folks :)
Why choose? Mash your sweet potatoes with your russets. Throw in some garlic, parsnip, maybe a carrot. Mashed root vegetables! If you're feeling frisky throw in some cabbage, too.
ReplyDeleteBut if forced to choosed? Mashed non-sweet potatoes, all the way. The more butter the merrier.
Ewwww...sweet potatoes? non-sweet, fo' sho'. With roasted garlic and lots of butter.
ReplyDeleteI guess sweet potato fries are good, but that's about it.
Oh, and I hope things settle down for you soon. Or at least get back to normal. ;)
ReplyDeleteUm,I really like both but I'm going to go with sweet.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very hard choice. But I must agree with silverthoughts2... and say sweet potatoes. They're kind of a veggie, but oh so desserty!
ReplyDeleteOops! A very happy Thanksgiving to you and all of yours!
ReplyDeleteJames: Veggie mash, eh? That could work...and butter for all! One for Potatoes.
ReplyDelete3GK: I have to say that I share your sentiments :) Two for Potatoes.
(and thank you!)
Silver: Fair enough! One for Sweet Potatoes.
Silly: Add some cinnamon and marshmallows and you practically have pie! Two for Sweet Potatoes. And I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving too :)
Everyone: 2-2 on the big potato question. Can this tie be broken? Hmmmmm...
I'd go for rice. I dislike potatoes unless they have been altered a LOT. But given these two choices, I'd say sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI love roasted sweet potatoes and also sweet potato pie. And they are better for you than regular potatoes. But when it comes to mashed potatoes, I'm a traditionalist and want them to be regular potatoes. Actually, I don't think I've ever made mashed potatoes, so I guess I've only had them when someone else makes them.
ReplyDeleteDmarks: As in cut up and fried and served with ketchup altered? haha! I'm not a HUGE fan either, as far a foods go :) Three for Sweet Potatoes.
ReplyDeleteSecret: I guess probably with fish, potatoes don't fit as well as other sorts of sides. So...Four for Sweet Potatoes?
Everyone: See how the tide can turn? Now Sweet Potatoes have a commanding lead of 4-2! Any other comments? They are ALWAYS welcome!
I'm a way worse blogger than you. I say potato. I'm Irish and I will eat potatoes any way I can get them. I like sweet potatoes too, but just not the ones that are served with sugar. i like them more savory.
ReplyDeleteChurlita: Maybe that is why I like potatoes...I am somewhat Irish too :) Three for Potatoes.
ReplyDeleteNow, 4-3, Sweet Potatoes v Potatoes!
