Moon & Sun, We All Move On

It is the mad, mad middle o' the week and you know what that means. It is time for Choose and Defend Wednesday! Please make a choice and defend that choice to the best of your ability.

I think most of us feel an affinity for some celestial body (insert your very special friend's name here - hee hee!) But, no, we are talking today about a higher plane. So, when it comes right down to it, what are you all about?

The Sun?

Or the Moon?
Choose and defend, s'il vous plait. Now is not the time to be shy. Spread some sunshine or moon us!

  1. The sun provides warmth and light, but the moon is interesting to look at through a telescope. I have to pick...

    The Moon

  2. That is a tough question, because I do appreciate both. But still, there's something peaceful about the sunrise. So I guess I'm leaning closer to the sun. Sorry moon. It's not you, it's me.

  3. I am still more a night person and I like the dark--the moon.

  4. The moon is a lot more cheeky. It moons us every month.

Besides, the moon is featured in the best poem in rock history:

    "Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy is spent

    Impassioned lovers wrestle as one
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young

Cold hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right

    And which is an illusion...."

  5. I'm equally guided by both. I love the sun and warmth and I really like to be outside during the day, but I'm also a total night person, and I seem to be very influenced by a full moon especially...But not the kind DMArks is talking about.

I can neither choose or defend on this one.

  6. AlienCG: You are a night guy...

Tara: haha! Way to let the moon down gently.

Evil-E: And you are a midnight guy, Evil.

Dmarks: Ah, Nights in White Satin! The moon is much more condusive to poetic inspiration, isn't it.

Churlita: I had some trouble with this one myself, but rigorously demanded an answer...you, I'll let slide here. Your non-choice was well defended :-)

Everyone: I think my choice here would vary based on my mood or frame of mind. These days though, the moon is calling. So, thus far we have three for the moon, one for the sun, and a Churly Girl undecided. Who else would like to chime in?

  7. I'd say the moon. More peaceful. The sun is in your face.

  8. If it was June, I'd say moon. When I see the moon it's usually at night, which is colder than day. I like to think I'm more of a winter person than summer however, I'm a person who likes the sunshine during winter without the heat of summer. I'm going to go with the moon because I can look at the moon and admire it everytime I see it, whereas with the sun its not something that can be looked at directly.

  9. NoRegrets: You make a good point!

FW: Since your choice is so beautifully defended, I will give you double credit. :-)

Everyone: With FW's double credit that gives us countless multitudes who prefer the sun to the moon. Tara, you and the sun are on your own...with Churlita with you guys part time.

  10. Ms. Laura B,

Evil-E is full of it *LOL*! Night-person my ass!!! He's snoozing away by 10 P.M. ha haa. I can't choose either. The sun has it's perks but the moon is C@@L to look at - but I wouldn't want it to be dark outside everyday. Going to the grocery store in the moonlight would be something else.

  11. BS Blogger: ha! You will be here to out Evil-E to the rest of the blogging world :-)
I would definitely miss sunlight...I could never live in one of those far northern places that stay dark for six months of the year.
